Fantastic Anniversary!
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary and had a great experience. Beautiful lobby, nice rooms, nicely decorated. Comfortable beds. Great extras such as free bottled water, popcorn, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, IPod dock, Wi-Fi. The Rock restaurant attached to the hotel was very good. The hotel also has free parking and shuttle service to Pike Place and other locations which was a big reason I booked here. The Negatives: our view of the parking lot and ugly next door building ( they were going to fix that for our second night though, however by then we didn't want to pack everything back up). : depending on what you want to do cab rides can really add up. We went to The Brooklyn Steak house and Comedy Underground (both located near Pioneer square) and it was about $15 each way... The Next night we went to a improv comedy show that was a 15min drive and paid another $15-20 each way. We used the free shuttle to go to Pike Place. Great place, would stay here again.

We had a heck of a time finding the hotel because our google map directions did not take into account all the one way streets or Aurora highway that ran directly through all the cross streets. If you don't have a GPS call the hotel for proper directions. It was really easy to find once we got around that highway.

We loved our room with view on the needle and the city. Quite enjoyed the room layout. Only problem was the Internet connection. Wireless connection very weak and ineffective. Hotel is working on improving it.

Comfortable
When I arrived, there was a homeless person laying on the ground by the door and a staff member standing next to him, I presume to keep an eye on him. Another staff member (manager) soon came out and gave the homeless person a sandwich, which I thought was compassionate, and firmly told him to leave the grounds, which he did. Not the best first impression for a guest. It was 3:00 pm...check- in time. My room was not ready until 4:00 which was aggravating because I had driven from Portland, had done the King Tut exhibit and felt like a little down time. The free parking and the free shuttle, driven by a nice guy named David, were great cost savers. Also, a specialty food storet a few blocks away is a good way to lower your restaurant bills. The bed, room, towels and airconditioner were just fine. The location is only good if you are going to Seattle Center. It is a long way from the other tourist stuff. I paid $179 a night in the middle of September. I feel like I paid maybe $20 a night too much. But still, my only real complaint is the late check-in.

Lovely Hotel
I found the Maxwell Hotel online when searching for a place to stay the night before boarding a cruise ship out of the Port of Seattle, and a few more when getting back. We couldn't have been happier with this wonderful hotel. Love the retro, art deco ambiance. Friendly, helpful staff... everyone smiles! Great location, and they loan bicycles to explore the city in a fun way. The Pike Place Market was a short bike ride away and made for a great way to spend a day. They offer umbrellas on loan in case of inclement weather but luckily the days we were there proved to be gorgeous. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortalbe stay in a beautiful hotel at a very reasonable rate. Thanks Maxwell Hotel!

First class feel for half the price.
I will never stay at another hotel in Seattle again. If you are looking for a first class hotel but for half the price, the Maxwell is for you. Conveniently located two blocks from the Space Needle, you are only a short walk away from many top attractions in downtown area, including the monorail that will take you to the heart of the commercial district and pike place market for a fraction of a cab fare. Even though you are close to the fun, you are in themiddle of a quiet residential neighborhood perfectrl for night time rest and relaxation. The rooms were spacious, gorgeous, and stocked with all the amenities that you could ask for. To top it off, the staff were as helpful as can be. I will definitely stay here again.

Maxwell Hotel
Everything was great about this hotel, the only problem was we couldn't get connected to the wifi in our room. I would highly recommend this hotel, it was close to a lot of the tourist attractions and a short cab ride or walk to Pike place market. The rooms were very classy, clean and comfortable and had a beautiful view of the Space needle.

"Funtastic" Hotel
Staff at this hotel was the friendliest that we have ever had. it is a great location for the Seattle center and from there you can take monrail to downtown. Ask for a room looking toward the Seattle Center as the views would be a little better!

Great place in Queen Anne
We had a great stay at the Maxwell. It was in a great location just a short walk to the monorail. It was very clean, the staff was friendly, and there are tons of restaurants nearby. We had a king room which was kept spotless by the housekeeping staff. It had hardwood floors instead of carpet which was amazing. And the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in!
