Nice Place to Stay Near Downtown Seattle

Very nice rooms and great staff. Parking was good and there are a lot of good restaurants near the hotel. The monorail was nice to be close by (3-4 blocks) to take to downtown shopping-- save your parking money and take the monorail. The only odd thing about my room was the door was a bit (1/3 in) short of the jamb on the lock side making it somewhat easy to see through. The hallway wall hides the defect a little bit, but the noise/voices from the hallway easily come through. Room was clean and the free WiFi was nice to have. I'm not convinced about the soap dispensers near the sink or in the shower, but they were filled up properly and I never ran out of soap, conditioner or lotion. Thanks for the umbrella too; I really needed it.

short but sweet stay in Seattle

We only had a couple of days to spend in Seattle so the location was perfect. Right near the Seattle center with lots to do. it was also close to the waterfront for a morning run. We could even walk from there to downtown in about 25 minutes. All we had to do was look for the space needle to find our way back. The staff couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. They even let us keep our car parked in the lot after we checked out as our flight was not until the evening. The rooms and lobby were very clean and well kept. The afternoon cupcakes in the lobby were much appreciated.

Events (King Tut exhibit, 3D movies) at the Seattle center sell out quickly on the weekend so try to be there during the week or reserve ahead.

Wonderful Seattle getaway

The Maxwell Hotel was a wonderful place to stay during our recent "family getaway" weekend to Seattle. Its clean, comfortable rooms, with lovely boutique-style furnishings and bright, fun art work throughout the hotel added to the enjoyment of our stay. The large bedroom with 2 Queen beds and a generous bathroom worked well for our 3-person family. The location of the hotel was ideal for our trip -- just a few blocks from the Seattle Science Museum, Space Needle and Monorail, we easily walked to the King Tut exhibit and to catch the Monorail into downtown Seattle. It was the 1st time we'd stayed at the Maxwell Hotel or in the Queen Anne Hill section of Seattle. We enjoyed the neighborhood and found several very good restaurants, wine bars and coffee houses within a 5-minute walk of the hotel. The staff was friendly and the hotel's free shuttle service to the Amtrak station a nice, unexpected benefit.

Perfect ending

The Maxwell hotel was the favorite of our Northwest trip. Very conveniently located and perfect for us. A very personable touch was the coffee and lemon cupcakes set out in the late afternoon/early evening. Desk personnel and other staff were extremely helpful and attentive to our every need. Our overall experience exceeded our expectations of the three-star rating. A real bargain for the money!

Fantastic Anniversary!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary and had a great experience. Beautiful lobby, nice rooms, nicely decorated. Comfortable beds. Great extras such as free bottled water, popcorn, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, IPod dock, Wi-Fi. The Rock restaurant attached to the hotel was very good. The hotel also has free parking and shuttle service to Pike Place and other locations which was a big reason I booked here. The Negatives: our view of the parking lot and ugly next door building ( they were going to fix that for our second night though, however by then we didn't want to pack everything back up). : depending on what you want to do cab rides can really add up. We went to The Brooklyn Steak house and Comedy Underground (both located near Pioneer square) and it was about $15 each way... The Next night we went to a improv comedy show that was a 15min drive and paid another $15-20 each way. We used the free shuttle to go to Pike Place. Great place, would stay here again.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

We had a heck of a time finding the hotel because our google map directions did not take into account all the one way streets or Aurora highway that ran directly through all the cross streets. If you don't have a GPS call the hotel for proper directions. It was really easy to find once we got around that highway.
