Fine for the price, but not amazing

It's a 5 star hotel, so no doubt that its a very nice place to stay. But is it the best 5 star or considerably better than a W or Westin. Not really. We had a very nice stay, but not worth the extra premium.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Valet parking is $39 but you can park yourself around the corner for $30 but you must drag your luggage down a few small flights of stairs to get to the garage elevators. Orbitz prices are much better than the front desk pricing.

Great Hotel Stay

This review is may be a bit extreme because they upgraded my room. Room was available at 11:00 am event though check-in was 3:00 pm. Great view of space needle from my window. Robes in room. Turn down service. We were treated like royalty. This is a perfect hotel if you want to spoil yourself.

Resturant is a little pricey..like youd expect. Plenty of Cafe's and resurants nearby. The public market is about 5 blocks away.

Felt like a king...

PRO: Check-in staff were the best I've experienced. The valet's were friendly and informative, the warm cookies and milk in the car in the morning were a good touch (but for $36 there should be cookies!). They allowed us to check in at 10am. CON: took 1/2 hour to get our luggage delivered to the room. not on the waterfront, but a short walk to either pike market or waterfront; safe area. Overall, worth more than the deal we got on orbitz but not worth full price.

Hot time in Seattle

The hotel service and staff are personable and very helpful. The concierge pointed us to a great restaurant a few blocks away, Wild Ginger, and pointed out good places a short walk away-Seattle Art Museum, Pike Place Market,Argosy harbor cruise, shops, etc. Valet parking, although expensive ($30 something a day, in an out privileges) was only $5 more than area parking garages and very fast. Our only complaint is that during the heat wave and 102 degree days, our corner, Northwest facing room could not get cool enough. A discussion with the desk clerk resulted in maintenance checking the a/c and delivering a fan to the room. Room was quiet, very clean, nice desk space and free internet-- a great urban hotel! This is the type of place you could go to without a car - airport shuttle?-- and have plenty to do during a weekend, city get away.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Wild Ginger, a short walk from the Fairmont Olympic, has excellent small dishes of Asian fusion cuisine, meant to be shared, a great bar, lots of fun. The duck breast dish is excellent. Down in Pike Place Market, Lowells has water views and one of the best breakfasts we have ever had - salmon omelets, freshly made corn beef hash, light cinnamon rolls -- the perfect start to a Seattle sightseeing tour.

Great Location, Great Staff, But Dated

This hotel was all around good, and I would probably stay there again. However, for the money, I would expect more updated in-room amenities, and there shouldn't be paint peeling/mold in the bathroom, or a $15/day charge for internet. For the money, you may get a better experience and feel you are getting your monies worth at another 4-5 star hotel within a couple blocks.

Excellent location

The staff was exceptional - very knowledgably and helpful. The location is perfect. It is very close to everything we wanted to do, but just off of the business of the Warf. Our air conditioning was not working when we arrived. But, a quick phone call to the front desk had it fixed within 15 minutes. The room was very quiet and we didn't even notice the street noise. Only drawback - no coffee machine in the room. So, we had to get dressed to go to the lobby when all we wanted to do was stay in bed and relax.
