Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The restaurant where we had dinner, The Metropolitan Grill, on 2nd and Marion was delicious and close to the hotel, about 6 blocks. We would highly recommend it. You need to update the year on your form - I put 2012, but it is 2013 !!!!!

NOt a Fairmont

Quality of the hotel was lower than Best Western inn. very expensive in return I got nothing. Elevetor was not working for 24 hr that I was there? come on such a big name hotel and cannot get it fixed? carpet seems dirty floor were not polished in main lobby. I upgraded my room for additional charge - what do I get instead of looking a one street now I was able to see streets. Room was extremly cold during the whole time I was there I had my heat up to 85 but I was still cold as the room had three windows and only one heater with single pane windows. It took them for ever to get my car from the parking even when I phoned ahead of time. They chaged me for a phone made to Valet paring like that was not enough that they charged me 42 to park for less then 24 hrs. I will never go back. Thanks

No free WIFI Expensive to park

This hotel is beautiful, however the room was ordinary & had small beds. We had 4 adults in 2 double beds. The overnight parking was expensive and they did not provide free WIFI. We went to Safeco for 2 games and next time we will stay closer to the park. Our room overlooked a roof & another bldg., no view whatsoever. Could be because we booked online???

Overrated

We arrived late from a NY flight, and although I had paid for the room weeks earlier, receptionist told me only 2nd floor room available (deluxe room) with view of vents and a/c ducts outside. Room was outdated and ergonomically strange, and did not contribute to our enjoyment of Seattle in the least. Felt as if I was a second-class citizen booking online.

Fairmont Olympic

Our only concern was at check-in, when there was a mixup as to whether we had previously paid Orbitz for the bill. The desk staff insisted that we find the Orbitz number and call but then realized after referrals and calls to our room that there was no need to call since we had paid the bill earlier. (The problem occurred because we missed the first night due to a cancelled flight and had called the hotel but the message was not noted.)

Find the elevator coming up to the Pike Street market. It cuts out most of the walking uphill!
