Beautiful hotel

My stay was only 2 days in the dead of winter so I could get away from hustle and bustle, and I did that. The hotel was quiet and right on the water. Their restaurant had a wonderful view, and their bar got quite active at night. We were within walking distance of Space Needle and other attractions in the wharf and downtown. We didn't have a car, but if you do, watch the daily parking rates, they're $36 per day, and wifi was $9.95 per day...They do have a shuttle for downtown on the hour and can pick you up from the airport for $45. if you don't want to deal with taxis, which cost about the same. Overall, I enjoyed it and would go again.

Don't get a rental car you have to park there, use a Zip car, which is available all over downtown Seattle, this will save you $36 a day for parking.

wonderful waterfront retreat!

Our four-day family stay at the Edgewater was delightful. The staff was kind and helpful, the lobby was warm and inviting, our room was charming, and the kids loved watching the ferry boats and seagulls out our window. We will definitely be back!

Used to be a better value

All in all still a unique experience. Get the water view room - it's great to have a room directly on the water! Being on the waterfront makes the hotel attractive if you like the downtown experience. Easy access to the Bainbridge and Bremerton ferries. The hotel has started down the cheesy path of charging for parking and charging for internet service. They ought to just roll these into the rates and stop nickle and diming the customers. The rooms are not laid out very well. Dim bathroom lights, no convenient way to stow your belongings, no safe in the room, too many pillows, stuffed animals, and nowhere to throw them except by cluttering the floor... Needs more thought and less frills.

Fantastic Stay

Deal could not have been better compared to other luxury hotels in Seattle. Fantastic location right on the waterfront. Great rate and the room and view were spectacular. Very friendly hotel staff. Very clean rooms. Recently renovated and modernized yet still holds charm. Had one of the greatest room service breakfasts I have seen. Definitely looking forward to the next stay.

Beautiful view!

The balcony view was amazing! The room was a bit small but the amenities made up for it. Very comfy bed and the fireplace was great. The staff was fabulous. They even lent us an umbrella so we could walk around downtown while it rained. We will definitely stay there on our next trip to Seattle!

Seatte Trip - Edgewater

The breakfast experience at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. The staff were friendly, smiling, all the way from the door, the gift shop, the housekeeping staff, and people at the desk. The view is outstanding-something you never forget. Parks are nearby, and the Public maket coudl be walked to if person can walk that distance. Everything seemed a short cab ride away.

History AND comfort

The Edgewater is conidered a "grande dame" of Seattle luxury hotels, for good reason: it's situated directly on the waterfront of Puget Sound, with many rooms actually OVER the water (an exceptional viewing experience), it has an elegant ambience, and, as for hisory: The Beatle stayed there when they played a gig in Seattle back in the 70s. What more recommendation does one need?

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

The hotel sits on the north end of the wharves--many major Seattle attractions lie on/near the waterfront to the south: Pike Place Market, the Seattle Arts Museum, Ivar's Acres of Clams restaurant, the Seattle Aquarium. A very good location for sightseers to Seattle...

Got it right in Seattle!

From check in to check out,it was perfect. Staff is warm, friendly, helpful and professional. Clean, warm & cozy room with a spectacular view. Why didn't we stay here long before now!? Restaurant and room service were spot on. Gift shop had a Starbucks. Next time we're headed to Seattle..we're heading to the Edgewater Inn.
