My Trip at Edgewater

The pillows are too soft and two are too hard. Difficult to sleep with. There's a machine that runs with a whristle noise every other 10 or 15 mn, disturbing sleep.

Very Good Hotel

This was my first time staying at this hotel and it was just great. I especially liked the live music every night in the bar/restaurant. I'm not sure if I would stay here again if I came back to Seattle due to price but it was a great weekend anyway.

Great hotel if you can find a good rate

Very nice hotel in a good location downtown on the water. Staff very friendly. I did not enjoy the $36/nt required valet or the charge for internet access. I would stay there again, especially if I could find a good rate. If you go there for the water view, make sure you pick a waterfront room!

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Pike's Market is an easy walk. Hail a pedicab for a fun experience to shorten a longer walk (e.g. Safeco)

One Night Stay

This hotel has out lived its usefullness. The tv and internet technology needs to be up dated. Did not have hot water in the morning for showers, apparently the boiler quit working during the night. The restaurant and bar was very expensive, ten dollar coffee nudge, thirty eight dollars for salmon dinner and the salmon was raw in the middle. Will not stay there again.

Nickel Dimed to Death

The Edgewater was nice but the first problem was that the front desk staff told me to upgrade our room to a water facing room was $75 total cost but they neglected to tell me it was for each night. As a result the room cost $150 extra not $75 extra. Bad communication! The next problem was the fireplace in our room would not light and it released gas into the room that stunk do bad it forced us to open the window to blow out the gas and have a technician come up to fix the problem. It got fixed but I would have expected better maintenance from a 4 star rated hotel. The hotel also charged me $1 for every single local call I made on their phone. Seriously? The cost of parking was $36 per day for guests. Really? It seems like a no brainer that people will need to park on your property when they stay there. Where else would they park? Wireless internet was $4.50 per hour. Come on! Internet is a foregone conclusion anymore and with the cost of rooms here it should be included! Then there were the exorbitant prices of room service, the restaurant on site and at the bar at the restaurant. Sub par food from room service and huge prices for small plates and drinks. You definitely have to leave this place to eat and drink. No room water. Glasses to drink from the tap but the water is unfiltered. Blech! $4.50 for a candy bar - Gross! $13.99 to $17.99 for in room movies - PPV is usually $5 to $6 per movie. Can you say HUGE MARKUP? In short, for 2 nights in upgraded room, 3 movies, lunch, in room dinner service, 2 waters, 2 candy bars and taxes I got a check out bill of $490.00. OUCH! Edgewater, you can do better and I would not mind paying the prices for this hotel if it were truly a 4 star hotel not a 2 1/2 half star masquerading as one. I won't be returning.

Barollo Italian Restaurant is pricy but excellent and fun. The crowd and music are great and bar seating is open and cycles fast. Check it for sure when you are there.

proceed carefully...

"waterfront" means that they can put you on the end that has a warehouse. it blocks 1/2 of your view. so, you have to haggle with the poofs at the front desk for an "unobstructed view" before your stay. try to haggle for anything during your stay, and it costs you. if you stay below the top floor, you can hear the elephants above you, because this thing was built in the 60's. this hotel is all about the "Beatles", but if you want a more rock n' roll take - check wikipedia for the adventures that Led Zeppelin had at the Edgewater.
