The hotel was charming. The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful. I liked the fact that every room has a kitchen. I ... had read info on the hotel before I booked it and a few people commented on the popular bar across the street and how it could be noisy. I have to say that we just joined in on the fun, the bar is actually a Mexican restaurant/bar and it has a great atmosphere.

1. Appreciated the price. Came down appreciably. 2. Unfortunately, the staff is not up to snuff consistently. 3. The ... First day is fair. Second day, the help deliberately hicc-up. Third day on, they are alternately obsequious, slippery, and resentful I asked the manager at 10am if my room could be cleaned by noon, as I was going out for a couple of hours.. She was enthusiastic and exuberant. Guess what..nothing happened. Personally, I don't like consuelas doing the room while I'm in it. I enjoy privacy for the money. So I call the mgr, who doesn't know how this could have happened and is all the way apologetic. I asked for a room credit. She hems and haws saying I'll have to ask the mgr (She is one!, they all are!) Calls back immediately to say can the consuela put towels in my room right now. Then calls to say I heard the consuela got there. then I capitulate and let consuela change the towels and make the bed. While receiving the works, I subconsciously get the feeling I am being exploited by the staff for devious purposes. This same treatment has happened repeatedly in Roach Motels and better, across this great land of ours.

We stayed at the Marqueen because it was close to our home which was having some plumbing work done. The room given to us ... [...] was on street level. The windows had no screens, so it was a little uncomfortable to have them open for air. People partying, smoking, yelling, fighting until all hours. There were rooms available on the 2nd and 3rd floors-but not for us. [...]The hotel itself was clean, quaint and I'm sure quieter on other floors. Staff was friendly.

We have stayed in this area many times, but this was our first time at the Marqueen. We liked it very much because it is a ... warm funky old hotel with charm and character. The rooms and walk in closet are huge, and there is a breakfast nook at the end of the kitchen. The staff is very friendly and they have a reasonable free breakfast.

There are a zillion inexpensive restaurants within two blocks. There are four so-so Asian places, two Indian, one Mexican, an Irish pub, a great pizza joint, a Greek place with better food than you get in Greece, two grungy hamburger joints, and three very good coffee shops. If you want a top steak drive a mile to Daniel's, and for fish go two miles to Anthony's or any other of the dozen fish places in the area.

We lodged on the 3rd floor and had a great window view of the Space Needle. It was quiet, the room was well maintained, and ... the staff- well, they were excellent! We come from a small town in nw Montana. We opted to walk or use the Metro for our week-long visit. The staff were courteous and very helpful in providing us Metro routes to the attractions we visited. My requests included bus routes to the Aviation Museum, the Zoo and Safeco Field. My mother was at a business conference in downtown Seattle, and made reservations and a transfer to the MarQueen Hotel. She was very impressed with the room: sitting room, kitchen and view of Eliot's Bay. The hotel is in a great location to the Queen Anne district, the Seattle Center, and walking distance to the downtown Seattle business district. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends, and would book with this hotel and its great staff in a heartbeat upon a return to the Emerald City.

Exceeded Expectations!
Duke Sep 7, 2009
I stayed at the Marqueen with my wife and one-year old. We were attending the Bumbershoot music and arts festival, which I ... have been doing for years. This is the first time I have stayed in this hotel, but have stayed in other hotels in the Queen Anne area. I will not stay anywhere else now for future trips. The hotel was about 3 blocks away from the closest entrance gate. 3-5 minute walk. The room was surprisingly large. King bed with a separate sitting area that included a pull-out couch. This was important, as we needed to "section-off" a sleeping area for our child, who was sleeping in a play-yard. It worked well, and we all had great sleeps. The bed was very comfortable with tons of pillows. The kitchen was very spacious as well, and included a seating area for 4. Full-size fridge and microwave. Enough dishes and cutlery to eat comfortably. We ordered take-out from a few restaurants in the area - a great Thai place right around the corner on Mercer. A nearby market also offers great deli sandwiches and other ready-to-eat food options. The complimentary continental breakfast that was offered is all we needed - fresh coffee, juice, yogurt, bagels, fruit and a variety of pastries. The staff were great! I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is attending events near Seattle Center. The hotel also offers free shuttle service to any Seattle destination.

well me got moved from marqueen hotel to inn at marqueen hotel, they told us we could have two queens at the inn at marqueen ... instead of one kind, but we got moved into the dump, with one single bed and one queen. It was horrible, they should have at least told us it really didnt have two queens. I would have rather had one king in a nice hotel not a dirty small hotel.

Rooms with lots of character
Larkspur Lisa Jul 19, 2009
Loved the character of the hotel. From walking up the marble steps outside to walking up the gorgeous, sweeping staircase to ... the great room, we enjoyed our stay at the Marqueen Hotel. The rooms were very spacious, each with a kitchen (with sitting area), small living room and large sleeping area. The most interesting aspects of the room were the period details and hardwood floor. The location is fantastic. Close to many bars (lots of happy hours!), restaurants, transportation and sightseeing activities. The hotel serves a substantial continental breakfast: hot drinks, OJ, bagels/toast, scones and fruit.

MAP Jun 29, 2009
The hotel was an interesting, older site. Our room included a king sized bed and pull out sofa. It would have been nice to ... have some separation, like a screen, between the two spaces. There was a small kitchen, equipped with the necessities for cooking a meal. Ice was available through room service. There are no elevators, so luggage needs to be carried up the flights of steps. There is free internet, but the connection was a bit weak. The staff at the front desk was great - very helpful. Parking is by valet - again quick and easy. Breakfast was very basic - coffee, OJ, and bread - probably not enough to get you through until dinner. The hotel is within walking distance of the space needle. There is a fantastic market within a block.
