Seattle stay

The hotel was an interesting, older site. Our room included a king sized bed and pull out sofa. It would have been nice to have some separation, like a screen, between the two spaces. There was a small kitchen, equipped with the necessities for cooking a meal. Ice was available through room service. There are no elevators, so luggage needs to be carried up the flights of steps. There is free internet, but the connection was a bit weak. The staff at the front desk was great - very helpful. Parking is by valet - again quick and easy. Breakfast was very basic - coffee, OJ, and bread - probably not enough to get you through until dinner. The hotel is within walking distance of the space needle. There is a fantastic market within a block.

Great Hotel, Friendly Stuff

This hotel is in great location. I can see the space needle from the window of my room. The room is nice and clean and my room include a kitchen. This is a plus for me to shop at the local market and cook the sea food myself. The room has an antique look, but it's very clean and comfortable. I recommend it to everybody. By the way, the free breakfast is great!

Charming hotel and neighborhood

Great for the tourist, or for a business trip. Close to downtown, but away from the hustle and noise. Great little area with stores, shops, and eateries. Close to the waterfront. I loved the atmosphere!! Great customer service. The hotel has a wonderful old-world charm, with modern amenities. There spa was wonderful!!! Overall, it was a great stay.

5 nights at the MarQueen

Neighborhood and location are excellent. Drugstore, grocery, and many restaurants within a block or two. Easy walk to downtown etc. and public transportation readily available. Continental breakfast very limited but nice. Our room had a kitchenette with table and chairs and seating area off of sleeping area. Very roomy. Pretty wood floors with area rugs which need a good cleaning. Bathroom generally clean but very dirty vent on ceiling. Even though the room was cute my overall feeling was it all needed a good scrubbing. There is no elevator available, hotel only 3 stories but can be difficult if carrying own baggage etc. Lobby very charming and staff helpful. Room and hallway very quiet. Free WiFi.

Great location, hotel

Placed in room facing the street with bar just across. Extremely noisy up until 3:30 am. Staff extremely helpful and accomodating. Continental breakfast superb. Location great--seattle center/space needle 3-4 blocks away---very convenient to downtown via monorail. Lots of diverse restaurants nearby. Room huge with kitchenette. Would love to go back to this hotel next time we visit seattle.

Another good stay at Marqueen

This was our 5th or 6th year at the Marqueen for Folklife and we'll reserve again for next year. Rooms are quaint, high ceilings, wood floors, kitchen w/microwave, small sitting room attached, windows open. Nice kitchen table nook. Decor is 80's imitation granny-like, but it fits the style of the hotel. Metropolitan Market is a block away and handy for stocking kitchen with a few necessities. 4 cup coffee maker in room, free wi-fi. Price for rooms is comparable with other, nearby chain hotels. Valet parking is required if you want to keep your car on site and it's steep @ $20/night. The hardwood floors are always clean, but sticky. I think they're waxed and they need to use a different product! There is no elevator so pack light, lug it up the three flights yourself or pay the bellman.

Staying in Seattle

If you don't want to rent a car, you'll have easy access to all the major bus routes and lots of eats & things to do within walking distance...Seattle Center is an easy walk, and downtown is doable on a nice day. The hotel is old...was built as a school for mechanics in the early 1900s and converted to apartments later. So you have to be comfortable with squeaky, hardwood floors and older fixtures. The staff is great!

I rented a car but since so many things are walking distance it was not necessary. There is a shuttle provided by the hotel and retaurants across the street.
