Dining

Fireside Room
The depth of character found in the Sorrentos Fireside Room cant be manufactured; its gotta be earned. Swathed in ochre mahogany paneling, furnished in eclectic midcentury-modern, outfitted with a baby grand piano and encircling a wide, octagonal central column, the Fireside Room is a throwback to more elegant times. During the day, it serves as a luxe office space, with power outlets, WiFi, and coffee and tea service for small meetings.
Dunbar Room
From 1961 to 64, the Sorrento dining room was known as the Dunbar Room. Were proud to restore the name and begin a new chapter of the Sorrento story with a new menu and new team featuring head chef Seth Caswell and hospitality specialist Jared Meisler. With the Dunbar Room, Caswell and Meisler have created a relaxed, refined environment in a bright but cozy space reminiscent of a Parisian train-station bistro or midtown Manhattan caf. As the bustle of the hotel carries on outside, the Dunbar remains a sanctuary, relaxed in attitude but attentive in service. Our dinner menu features the freshest Northwest seafood pulled from the Puget Sound and the Pacific, grass-fed beef and sustainably raised pork and poultry, and produce sourced from farms across Washington State. Our bar list emphasizes our favorite local wines, beers and spirits "plus our own house-made amaro" alongside preferred liquors and vintages from around the world.

A standard that did not meet

Would not recommend Thu, Oct 1, 2015
I recently returned from an amazing birthday getaway from Seattle. I travel to Seattle 3 times out of the year just because I love the city so much. I usually stay at the Best Western Executive Inn Plus by the Space Needle, but this time I wanted to try something different. Before booking the trip I narrowed it down to Hotel Sorrento, and boy was I wrong. The Pros: The hotel itself is really nice, it has that nice rich history to it. The room was clean and the room size was average. Other than that the cons were what stood out to me. The Cons: When it comes to me rating a location, the main thing that stands out is (1) is it clean (2) guest service. Yes it was clean. however the staff there were so rude. I have never been ignored and treated like that ever. I called front desk to express a concern that I had and she hung up on me, I arrived in the early hours of the day to find the front desk empty, waited around to see if the staff member would return and nothing, when checking in as I walked away the front desk member said something about me to her coworker and when I came back to confront her she said nothing. I can easily get a room at the motel 6 in which I know that they always have someone staffed at the front desk and that they always greet me when I come in. I asked the front desk about my parking options if I didn't want to do valet and she said she didn't know. A good employee and a good work location always has to give the customer options, I understand that they would like to promote their valet service, but also understand that they overall guest experience is what matters. Who cares if the guest doesn't valet at your hotel, give them options. The front desk girl got mad at me. I understand that this is a old hotel and its really not that big of a deal, but the walls are thin so I could hear the people talking in the room next to us. The wifi was very slow, and the toilet handle would work half the time. Again little things but I am more focused on the way the employees welcome their guests and make them feel at home, in which I didn't. OVERALL, I would not stay at this hotel again. Before the trip I placed them at a high pedestal, they unfortunately did not deliver, they did not live up to the reviews. It was upsetting and the only person that greeted us was at the very end when we were getting in the elevator to check out. Stephen that you for asking us how our day was going and acknowledging us. Out of the 3 days that I stayed there, I felt welcomed for only 1 minute.

Sorrento Hotel - a disappointment

Would not recommend Thu, Jul 23, 2015
I traveled to Washington as planned and booked a room at the Sorrento Hotel as part of my package. When I arrived at check-in I was told that I was being billed upfront an additional $100.00 that was not reflected in my booking information for incidentals that were not yet utilized. I refused to pay for an additional cost that was not reflected at booking and the staff refused to check me in despite the room already being paid for. I have been staying at the Sorrento off and on for 25-years and was treated poorly. With staff that was indifferent, rude and actually smug. I left and booked and stayed at another hotel and spent an additional $150.00. It was no the money but, the unquoted additional cost at reservation. Budget car rental had an quoted additional cost of $225.00 in which I gladly paid and actually upgraded to a more expensive care. Sorrento - poor management, poor customer service and, staff that did not match the quality or history of the hotel itself or my previous experiences as a Seattle resident. A 25-year customer that will never set foot in the lobby again. Horrible experience.

Luxurious Sophisticated Hotel

The outside patio makes you feel that you could be sitting in Paris. We enjoyed lunch and happy hour our entire stay. The food was amazing and the drinks were very creative and delicious. We came to town to take care of business and looked forward to unwinding at the hotel at the end of the day.

Had a great stay at this hotel. Quiet with small details that make it quite charming. I also thought the location was excellent. And they have free ice cream in the evenings.

Classy, historic hotel

Would recommend Mon, Jan 5, 2015
We needed a place close to Tula's, Jazz Alley, and the Triple Door. So the Sorrento was perfect, parking was handy, and we could walk to the Triple Door in 10 minutes. Very comfortable rooms, the coffee press and bar fridge were handy, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will return!

Nightlife hint

10 minute walk to the Triple Door, a great live music venue, bar and supper club.
