The Sorrento Hotel’s Fireside Room features the original mahogany paneling and fireplace, making it a favorite spot for cocktails in Seattle. Service is attentive. The hotel boasts a ratio of 1.3 staffers for every guest, which helped it earn AAA’s 4 diamond award.

Dining

Fireside Room
The depth of character found in the Sorrentos Fireside Room cant be manufactured; its gotta be earned. Swathed in ochre mahogany paneling, furnished in eclectic midcentury-modern, outfitted with a baby grand piano and encircling a wide, octagonal central column, the Fireside Room is a throwback to more elegant times. During the day, it serves as a luxe office space, with power outlets, WiFi, and coffee and tea service for small meetings.
Dunbar Room
From 1961 to 64, the Sorrento dining room was known as the Dunbar Room. Were proud to restore the name and begin a new chapter of the Sorrento story with a new menu and new team featuring head chef Seth Caswell and hospitality specialist Jared Meisler. With the Dunbar Room, Caswell and Meisler have created a relaxed, refined environment in a bright but cozy space reminiscent of a Parisian train-station bistro or midtown Manhattan caf. As the bustle of the hotel carries on outside, the Dunbar remains a sanctuary, relaxed in attitude but attentive in service. Our dinner menu features the freshest Northwest seafood pulled from the Puget Sound and the Pacific, grass-fed beef and sustainably raised pork and poultry, and produce sourced from farms across Washington State. Our bar list emphasizes our favorite local wines, beers and spirits "plus our own house-made amaro" alongside preferred liquors and vintages from around the world.

They recently changed their owner. Not sure how the hotel is gonna be like. But previous staying experience is reasonable.

Clean and convenient

Had a great stay at this hotel. Quiet with small details that make it quite charming. I also thought the location was excellent. And they have free ice cream in the evenings.

Classy, historic hotel

We needed a place close to Tula's, Jazz Alley, and the Triple Door. So the Sorrento was perfect, parking was handy, and we could walk to the Triple Door in 10 minutes. Very comfortable rooms, the coffee press and bar fridge were handy, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will return!

What's Right with Sorrento

Excellent throw-back to a better time when one could find a place to ignore the NFL. Accomplishable here. Staff was most accommodating with responses that are rare. "We will be right there", "your car will be right up" we will bring you a couple of wine glasses immediately". You begin to relax the moment you sense that you will be taken care of, and you are. Thank you

Sorrento Hotel

The Sorrento Hotel in Seattle is a charming old place in the heart of the city. The hotel staff is wonderful, rooms are very clean and comfortable, as it the bar area. The only compliant about the room was not having black out curtains, the lights from the street were shining directly into my room all night and a plumbing issue that all my toilet to run off and on all night. The restaurant is a bit pricey for the quality of the food served, though the service made up for much of it. Most hotels now offer a toothbrush and paste, this was not the case, though the soap and shampoos were of the highest quality. Parking is an extra cost, though it wasn't stated explicitly when I book. Here the hotel staff made up for this. The location was a HUGE plus and I would give them another try.

Seattle is a beautiful city... Sorrento Hotel was only ok

Seattle is an amazing city but Sorrento Hotel fell short of our expectations. The hotel was clean, but everything felt rundown. We knew the Sorrento was built in the early 20th century, so we weren't expecting a modern Four Seasons or W Hotel experience, but slow draining sinks, toilets that don't flush properly, lumpy mattresses and uneven floors in the hallway and room, something needs to be addressed. Location was fine... About a 20 min walk to Pike Place Market or a 10 min ride in the complimentary hotel car (if available), a bit longer walk on the way back since it will be all uphill. There are restaurants and convenience stores close by so you won't feel so isolated from the rest of Downtown Seattle. When we go back to visit Seattle, we will forgo the charm (?) and character of the smaller 'boutique' hotel, pay a little more and not stay at the Sorrento again.
