Rooms
Not surprisingly, each room at the Hotel Max sports an arty title. Solo art has a double bed and teak desk. Art of two beds rooms boast two double beds. Queen of art rooms sport a queen bed and artist king has king-size beds. Soothing tones of sage, charcoal gray and vegetal oranges decorate each room. All rooms have high thread-count linens and duvets, robes, coffee makers with Organa coffee and Steven Smith tea, Aveda bath amenities, a menu of pillow choices and a menu of spiritual inspiration suitable for almost any belief system.
Features
An art-filled lobby, guest rooms and hallways underscore the Hotel Max's dedication to art and Seattle-area artists and photographers. If the point is to create a serene environment, the Hotel Max follows up admirably with rooms done in calming hues. In-room tea accompanies in-room coffee and a spiritual menu promises inspiration for almost any faith or belief system. A whimsical "you got it" button on the telephone links guests with hotel services.

The contempory place
Very Nice. The room had a totally separate room for the shower, commode and closet! Very nice downtown location.

Very nice hotel
The staff is very friendly. The hotel is in a great location if you want to get around downtown. The only negatives were the paper thin walls. You can hear your neighbors having conversations in the other room. I read about that online and it was confirmed during my stay. The rooms are small but the beds and amenities are great. I didn't mind the small rooms since the only thing I planned on being out on the town most of the time I was there.

Perfect location, good price
I loved this hotel. The room wasn't huge, but it was big enough -- I wasn't there to sit around in a hotel room! -- and it was very nicely appointed. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. And perhaps most importantly to me, the location was absolutely ideal. It was only a very short walk (two short blocks) to the Westlake Center, where the train from the airport ends up, where the buses stop, and where the monorail to the Space Needle starts. It's incredibly easy to get around town from the Hotel Max, and the price was a bit lower than the other nice hotels around Westlake. In short, I would heartily recommend this hotel if you're visiting Seattle. (I would also recommend a visit to Seattle.)

Enjoyable and comfortable visit
The best part of Max is its staff. For the six days that I enjoyed there, the staff could not have been friendlier nor done more to make my stay more enjoyable. Thanks for one great experience. Will stay there again when I visit Seattle. I am sold on the Max!

Nice hotel for holiday
I went Seattle for my holiday. The hotel is good, nice service and comfortable room, although the speed of wireless is not fast enough, but it doesn't matter, I spent the time outside. In general, I like the hotel and enjoy my holiday.

Very satisfied
I enjoyed everything about Hotel Max except for the lack of a view and the noise outside my 2nd floor window when trucks would come by to pick up garbage from the dumpster in the alley. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable with good quality coffee and tea. Nice television, good desk, and excellent bed. I had two great dinners and a nice breakfast at the restaurant in the building called Red Fin. It is very conveniently located to multiple points of attraction including the monorail, the convention center, and Pike Place Market. I would definitely stay there again. However, next time I would request a higher floor and a room that does not face the alley.

Short walk from hotel
The Westlake station is only about 3 blocks away from Hotel Max. You can get to the airport for only $2.50 one-way by taking Link Light from Westlake to Sea-Tac station. The ride takes about 45 minutes to an hour.

Well situated
There at the weekend for visiting the city. Best areas of town can be reached by foot. Staff friendliness in hotel was below average. Room was made up only after asking for it.

Nice concept, but still an old building.
The art concept of the hotel is very nice, and certainly gives much character. Every floor looks different with different photos gracing the room doors, so wandering other floors is fun too, if it makes you look somewhat suspicious. My queen room had the smallest shower stall ever though, and heating A/C was an old fashioned loud fan on the window with no thermostat. Location was very good, with both Capitol Hill businesses and downtown equally close on foot. They are trying very hard and generally did a good job renovating, but those are the limits they couldn't overcome.

Short walk from hotel
Street parking is free on Sundays and evening. A short walk northwest and parking is much easier!
