Art-filled accommodations in downtown Seattle
The Hotel Max combines art and stylish boutique comfort, all within walking distance of Seattle's most famous attractions. Almost 400 works by 39 Seattle artists and photographers decorate rooms and public spaces. The Hotel Max takes advantage of its art niche to occasionally offer packages and deals tied to exhibits at the nearby Seattle Art Museum. The Hotel Max's restaurant, Redfin, focuses on Japanese specialties and serves breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner.
Highlights
  • Art work by local artists and photographers on display in the lobby, hallways and guest rooms
  • Aveda-brand bathroom amenities
  • Close to well-known Seattle restaurants, including Wild Ginger
  • Pet friendly (fees apply)
Rooms

Not surprisingly, each room at the Hotel Max sports an arty title. Solo art has a double bed and teak desk. Art of two beds rooms boast two double beds. Queen of art rooms sport a queen bed and artist king has king-size beds. Soothing tones of sage, charcoal gray and vegetal oranges decorate each room. All rooms have high thread-count linens and duvets, robes, coffee makers with Organa coffee and Steven Smith tea, Aveda bath amenities, a menu of pillow choices and a menu of spiritual inspiration suitable for almost any belief system.

Features

An art-filled lobby, guest rooms and hallways underscore the Hotel Max's dedication to art and Seattle-area artists and photographers. If the point is to create a serene environment, the Hotel Max follows up admirably with rooms done in calming hues. In-room tea accompanies in-room coffee and a spiritual menu promises inspiration for almost any faith or belief system. A whimsical "you got it" button on the telephone links guests with hotel services.

Fantastic stay!

Everything about my stay at Hotel Max this past weekend was superb, from the overall quality of the hotel, the room, amenities, and particularly the staff. Every single staff member I encountered, at the front desk, valets, and particularly the custodial staff, were friendly and welcoming. The room was well-designed and serviced, and I appreciated the value of environmentalism throughout the hotel (e.g., use of cruelty-free soaps and shampoos, recycle bins in the room, options for room service). Loved the overall aesthetic. There was so much thought and care put into each element of the stay, it really showed. I particularly appreciated the "pillow menu" option. A fantastic stay from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay ion perfect location

This is a gem of a hotel. It is quirky, with red with chrome and rock n roll accents. I love it. The rooms are small but it is a downtown hotel and that should be expected. We stayed in one with a King bed and were very comfortable. The bed itself and pillows were very high end and luxurious. They have a lot of small amenities that they do not even mention in the booking. The staff is great, free Beer tasting for an hour each evening (not really a tasting with small glasses and little portions it is better...they wheel out a keg and the server keeps your real size glass full the entire hour.) they also have lobby umbrellas to borrow for the day, a small gas fireplace, water with lemon, etc.. They even had some temporary construction next door and provided ear plugs if you wanted to sleep in past 10 AM. The rooms have record players (For those young people those are the things that spin vinyl) and a few records from local Seattle bands. The doors of the room all have local band posters on them that really works with the black and red theme. Bathrooms are modern, small but very nice. Plenty of hot water with good pressure, fast. They have a texting service where once I checked in they texted me before I got to my car with a welcome and if I had any questions a reply text would get them solved. This is brilliant. I used it several times and got almost immediate replies and answers to my inquires. Great Idea. Valet parking was $45 a night (IT IS SEATTLE) but there is a public pay lot right across the street that offers it for around $30 for 24 hours. The public lot is very convenient to hotel. The best thing may be location. Right downtown a short walk to Pikes Place and everything else in Seattle. Overall I really was impressed and loved this hotel. I travel a lot for work and fun and like to stay in just these kind of places as opposed to the mega hotel chains...adjacent bar restaurant is great but you can find anything within blocks to eat, drink or smoke! It's Seattle at it's finest. Stay here....

Hotel Max

I was in Seattle for work. Hotel Max was close to work and restaurants so it was the best location for me. For one person the hotel room was perfect, if more than one person were staying in the room it would have felt a little cramped. I asked for an extra blanket and the service was prompt and courteous. This fit my needs for this trip.

Good value

Great location and very comfortable bed. Room was tiny, however, so won't work if you have a large suitcase. Since there is no concierge, the front desk needs to be better informed about Seattle.

Chic Boutique Hotel in Awesome Location

Fun boutique hotel with cool artwork and a great welcoming vibe. Staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating, allowing us to check in early. Perfect location to walk to excellent shopping, dining, sightseeing, movie theaters and health clubs. Rooms are small but bed and pillows very comfortable. Overall, a very enjoyable stay at this hotel and would definitely return.
