Cool ambiance, lacking in amenities

Note: When I was here, they had just completed a major renovation, so some things may have been in a transition period. I was in Seattle for the third time on a quick apartment hunt. I was looking forĀ a hotel in Belltown that was close to the apartments I was thinking of renting, and Hotel Five seemed like a great choice. When I walked in, I was impressed with the setup and the ambiance. It definitely feels very trendy. (Although there was no sign outside the hotel when I checked in. They actually hung it up on my second night. Again, renovating.) The front desk staff was polite and friendly, although not super knowledgable about the area. My room was about average sized for a hotel in the area, and it was very well decorated. Again, everything about this hotel says "trendy." The bed was comfy and they provided plenty of towels, etc. However, my hotel room did not have a refrigerator or the usual hotel booklet containing information about the hotel or the area. I was not able to get WiFi in my room, and I notified the front desk but nothing changed. The TV channel selection is okay, but not great (something like 15 channels.) The shower was actually sort of difficult to operate -- no affordances about how to turn it on or which way to turn it to adjust the temperature. Could have been user error, though! ;-) Also, watch out for the toilet. When you flush it sounds like it may blast off into space. The biggest plus of this place is the location. It's a stone's throw from some great Belltown food and drink, and less than a 10 minute walk from Pike Place Market. I'd stay here again if the price was right, but I'm not too attached to it.

Check out Thai Treasure for some awesome Thai food! It's within walking distance (almost across the street) near the Glassblowing shop. They are very open to custom orders and they make it nice and spicy!

Great location but remodel in process

This hotel is nicely located for walking to lots of places but in the midst of remodel. The 3rd floor rooms where we stayed were clean but funky where the 4th floor where our friends were staying were very different and much nicer. I would return once the remodel is complete. Breakfast in the cafe was nicely done.

Very cheek and cool!!!

This was my first time in Seattle. At first, I wasn't sure about Hotel5 from the outside, but once inside, I was impressed with the decor. Staff very friendly, which is a big plus. They will help you with anything you need. Walking distance to everything. Thank you for the stay. Very cheek and cool.

Ramada? Hotel 5?

Stayed for 3 nights. Neat place in not a bad location- super convenient to light rail, Space Needle, City Center, etc. Accommodations were very clean and not bad to look at. They were in the midst of remodeling from the standard Ramada look to something approaching their interpretation of an art/boutique hotel. They're doing a good job. We managed to walk everywhere (pioneer square to capitol hill) and the price was great. Might stay some place a little closer to Northern Seattle if you're not into the touristy stuff and want just the awesome urban experience but, yeah, I 'd stay here again.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Bathtub Gin... speakeasy style, it's a hole in the wall but worth the look. Also try Crocodile's back-bar... amazing booths for booze, beer, and pizza. If you're north, than def. make Smith a restaurant destination- simply perfect.

Great location, but deceptive room pics

This was an ok place to stay. It had the feel of a Ramada Inn, and that's probably what it used to be: when the desk clerk gave me a map of downtown Seattle, he put a sticker with the number '5' on the location of the hotel. I peeled the sticker back, and found a Ramada logo there. Anyway, the hotel's web site shows fancy-looking post-futuristic rooms. But I didn't get one of those: the room I got was an ordinary-looking room. It did have a semi-decent view of the Space Needle, but again, the room I received was dull and drab, so don't expect to get a super-cool-looking room. Except that the electrical outlets didn't hold my cellphone charger, the bathroom sink was outside the bathroom, and the showerhead was chin-level (I am 5' 8''), I can't complain. The bed was comfy, and I slept like a baby.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

The view from the top of the Space Needle was good, maybe not the tallest structure you've been on, but the one thing that justified the $18 ticket was the sight of Mount Rainier in the distance.

Mixed experience

The rooms look funky with modern design and bright colours. However, the heater did not work in my room (it was winter), the light was broken in the bathroom and the complimentary products (dispensed by pump action) were empty and not replenished during my stay.

Really?

Beautiful & stylish hotel. Remodeling of parking area creating a mess with early construction (7 a.m. in hotel and/or across the street) and few spots to park. Great free pineapple cupcakes in afternoons but some of the travel basics are missing, like frig in room or towels for each guest.
