Overview

The Hotel Deca in Seattle is a fixture in the University District. Since opening its doors in 1931, the hotel has been nationally renowned for its art deco motif. In the lobby, lime green high-backed chairs share space with metal cocktail tables, exotic wooden bookcases and colorful Jazz-Age murals. The fully renovated hotel offers guests their choice of 155 deluxe rooms and junior suites. The three premier penthouse suites are the epitome of luxury. You can relax on a custom Italian sofa next to the double-sided gas fireplace or soak in a bath tiled with South African honed slate. Standing on the private, 1,000-square-foot wrap-around deck while peering through the telescope provided yields stunning views of downtown Seattle and the Cascade Mountains.

Our 1st Visit to Seattle

Would recommend Fri, Dec 11, 2015
My sister who's lived here for more than 25 years invited us to have Thanks Giving with her. She suggested a place closer to her in University area but Deca was just as close and less the cost for the season. Love the décor of the place. Room was cozy, comfortable and clean. Easy access to food, shopping and transportation. We found a wonderful Udon restaurant around the corner and excellent food at restaurant and coffee shop downstairs. We'll definitely stay here again.

Very pretty hotel

Would recommend Mon, Aug 3, 2015
It was a very nice hotel, generally, and close to many small restaurants, since it was located next to the university. I did not appreciate the $15/day facility fee that was added when I checked out. This supposedly covered a recent renovation, free WI-FI, neswspapers, apples, water bottles, etc., all of which I could have done without had I know I was going to be charged extra for them. I felt that this was a very poor decision on their part to add this fee at checkout.

Orientation

Would not recommend Fri, Jul 10, 2015
Hotel rated high without a real restaurant (bar serving food). High cost near UW but nothing else. No fridge, could get one for add'l $15, windows not clean so gave unclean feeling in room, otherwise room was clean. Nothing extra...minimal. for $300. two person per night.

Adequate

!00 on the staff..helpful in many ways! The room was just a room..no coffeemaker..one bar of soap and nothing else. We were upgraded from the 2nd floor to the 8th floor with a view so no complaints there.

The room at first clance was great. Great location & awesome front desk staff. The room wasn't clean sadly, this put a damper on our stay.

One night in the city

Would recommend Tue, May 12, 2015
We booked this hotel because we were going to concert across the street at the Neptune. I had to face facts and realize I'm just too old and tired to party and then drive an hour back home. Makes for a perfect one-night getaway!

Family Trip

Would recommend Wed, Mar 18, 2015
The staff was by the most accomodating we have ever dealt with. Never was anything difficult, cannot be done, or we do not do that. It was always, anyway we can help. The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable, and well appointed. As mentioned by others, the walls are a bit thin but this did not cause an issue. Cannot say about the food as we did not eat there but the lounge area is very accomodating. Overall, excellent place to stay in a beautiful city.
