A nice surprise

I was not sure what to expect since Hotel Deca is a local hotel and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were nicely decorated and it came with free wifi. The staff was extremely nice— they let me check-in 6 hours earlier than my regular 3pm check-in AND let me have a late check-out without any additional fees. The only downside was that the walls are a little thin, so you could hear noises from the room next door, but everything else was really great. I would definitely stay here again.

Good location for UW

Clean, friendly staff, but cold and drafty on a winter night, bathrooms not heated, and ordered shuttle never materialized. Good location if visiting UW and even relatively close to downtown Seattle.

under construction

With the exception of the sky level, where we reserved, being under renovation, our stay and the staff were very accomodating.

Almost Perfect

Easy to get to; perfect location; great staff; small enough for excellent service. I had a little problem with the room, and it was taken care of while I ate dinner. Good view as well.

It's alright

Overall the experience was good, but not great. Annoying that you have to pay $15/day for parking. Would've like to known that before I booked. Staff was nice and the rooms were clean. I did REALLY enjoy the views from my 11th story window and great location if you want to be around the U District or have friends or family at the Children's Hospital or Ronald McDonald House.

Misleading information on website: Views?

BEWARE: Sky Level rooms do not give you a view of the Seattle skyline. Local corporate HQ blocks all views south. Staff member repeatedly quoted "booking through 3rd party doesnt guarantee"....view, bed type, etc. Wont be coming back

TRAPPED IN THE ELEVATOR

-The internet was slow. -The walls were paper thin. -TINY, TINY, ROOM. -Outdated and cheap feeling, but not cheap in price. -Bad service. However, this is the real story: Me and some friends were taking the elevator from the 11th floor to the lobby when it just stopped. We were trapped without our cell phones or any communication for probably an hour. I had to constantly comfort my friend who was traumatized and needed desperately to go to the bathroom but also a lot of attention because he was so scared. the fire department had to get us out, our friends left the lobby before we could reach them, and we had to walk all the 11 flights or stares back up to our room for the rest of our stay, with all our bags. we were never accommodated. in fact, the manager yelled at me and made me cry upon check out. worst hotel experience I've ever had.
