Hotel 1000 review

The hotel was all right - about what one might expect for this type of facility. I found the bathroom design to be a bit odd and the quality of materials wanting. For example, the tub fills from the ceiling; a design I suspect was intended to be dramatic. However, rather than a quiet porcelain-coated cast iron tub, the hotel went the cheap route and installed a fiberglass tub, which functions much like a drum. In other words, it is quite loud when filling the tub. Second, the bath area is separated from the sleeping area by a glass wall. For privacy, one has to lower a shade that does not fully block view or light - turning the light on at night in the bath means the bedroom gets illuminated as well. Lastly, the shower head fell off its plumbing pipe as it was being used and broke into five pieces on the floor of the shower. The in-room mini-bar is set up to automatically "detect" when a customer removes an item for more than 30 seconds and presumably consumes it. I put "detect" in quotation marks because we were charged for an item upon checkout when I'm quite confident no item was removed for more than 30 seconds for examination. The bill was corrected without complaint. This is, of course, a matter of personal preference, but I found the fake interest and intrusive questions about my stay and the repetitious "Is there anything we can do for you?" to be irritating. I can ask for help when I need it, and I find the constant attention from staff to be unwelcome. I don't check into a hotel to have a conversation or to share my plans with total strangers. It should be a place to sleep; not an interrogation.

Beautiful Hotel!

We had a beautiful suite with panaoramic views of the city and water. The bath (especially the tub!) was great. We appreciated the art channels on the HDTV. We were only in town for a night, so we did not eat there and can't comment on BOKA. We slept great and felt pampered.

My review of Hotel 1000

This is an above-average boutique hotel, in my opinion. I stayed for more than 5 nights and would go back again. I feel happy to recommend it. The rooms are well-designed, stylish and original. The bathrooms are beautiful. I really like the separate (proper) shower and closed off WC. Didn't use the fill from the ceiling bath tub, but it looked good and the glass screen through from the bathroom to the bedroom area was nice in that you could enjoy the view (there is a privacy screen that can be lowered when you want). Loved the free high-speed internet and free local and long distance VIOP phone calls within the US. Plenty of storage in the bedrooms and great bath-robes. Tech-wise the rooms are advanced and worked very well. Service throughout the hotel was excellent; staff were attentive and responsive but not unctuous or fake. The bedrooms with sea views (which are slightly interrupted by an intervening building) are worth paying more for and I recommend requesting a high floor room as it really makes a difference with respect to the view. Breakfast was simple but nice. I liked the bar, but the restaurant has had mixed reviews so I didn't eat there. There are lots of great eateries nearby. The library / balcony area was nice too. Location was great, between Pioneer square and Pike Place market. Exercise room was pretty nicely equipped but I would have liked a pool or better yet hotel arranged access to a real health-club for the price I was paying for the room. I was not disturbed by noise at all.

Leisure Friendly

This hotel was fabulous..my husband and I took an overnight trip and it was wonderful. The bathtub was exceptional! and all the ammenties from dinning and drinks to location were awesome. My only complaint was the ice, they were out of ice when we were there and to have a coctail in our room was out of the question. Overall the room was great the staff was great and I would recommend anyone to stay there.

Nice amenities

Overall my stay was top notch! The location to Pike Place Market, Pugent bay ferries, theatre & the shopping district were within a 5 block walk. The hotel spa was relaxing & friendly, though I think a bit overpriced. The restaurant was a trendy place to grab a drink or have a nice dinner. I do recommend that you request or pay the few extra bucks for the rooms with bathtubs, as I understand the ceiling shower head adds to the ambiance while filling the tub. Service was incredible, as there was never a door to open ourselves, 24 hour room service, & everyone had a congenial manner. Concierges were able to book us last minute reservations to two of the trendier restaurants in downtown Seattle. If you or one of your family members or friends needs a great place to stay , than Hotel 1000 is the place to be.

All of the famous shops & stores. The first few blocks are full of vintage boutiques, & Nordstrom is only a 5-6 block walk.

Very friendly

Hotel 1000 was very comfortable. We had a partial view of Puget Sound and Safeco Park, and it made our stay more enjoyable. The room was very comfortable, and the Moulton Brown toiletries were nice. The neatest thing was that the water for your bath tub came from the ceiling, which made it very entertaining. The power shades for the bathroom was a nice touch. The Starbucks coffee and pastries in the library was a nice touch. The fitness room was very up-to-date. Their lounge was a nice place for snacks and drinks. There's also complimentary wifi throughout the hotel. We didn't get a chance to try their restaurant, BOKA,since there were so many other restaurants we wanted to try, but the menu looked interesting. The HDTV was great. All in all, it was a great hotel.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Pioner Square is just a few blocks away, and it's the historic part of town. There are many interesting shops, particulary bookstores there, and you could spend many pleasant hours there. It's also only 5 to 6 blocks to Pike Place Market, which you should definitely see. It also has the first shop where Starbucks started from.
