Arrived late due to plane flight. Attendant more than helpful. Parking in garage under hotel, secure for only $10 per night. ... Good, hot breakfast in large room. Rooms with two queen beds made it more comfortable for the 4 teenagers with us. Ten minute walk to the Space Needle. It was a perfect choice for us. The beds were not the most comfortable, but okay.

Easy to find, good location for the price, RIGHT by the space needle. We had a good time and were impressed with the ... customer service. Our first night was sleepless thanks to a loose pipe in the wall. Every time anyone above us used water, the pipe would rub against the pipe hanger, making a HORRIBLE, shrill metal-on-metal noise. But, the next morning we told the front desk and they immediately moved us to a new room. Night #2 was quiet and perfect. For $5pp, the hotel shuttled us to/from the Seahawks game, which was wonderful on a 25 degree day! I would stay here again.

JTR Dec 2, 2009
Good staff, very clean, rooms well equiped, had a king bed which was very good to sleep on. Hotel food in the Emerald was ... good. Good location, just blocks from Whole Foods, I had mini suit. Stayed at the Westin a few weeks before for three times the money and this Holiday Inn is a better hotel for those that like to handle there own items like bags, be left alone. Noise with the road, but it is Seattle. I will stay here again when I return to the city. [...]

could have done better...
ladykitty Dec 2, 2009
when i arrived, i was greeted with fantastic service. i had a view of the space needle and was even upgraded to a king size ... bed at no additional charge. however.. it was suggested in the description that the pool was 24 hours, it actually closed at 11 and there was no hot tub. our remote didn't work for our tv, though that was promptly fixed. there was no microwave or mini fridge. the hotel actually ended up accidentally charging me over $100 after my stay, which was inconvenient to say the least. aside from wasting near an hour of my time between phone calls, when i first noticed the charges - which were still pending - i was assured they would be gone before they ever processed. imagine my surprise when they hadn't been taken off. this ordeal took several phone calls and about a week to clear. also, i was in seattle for a concert and when i called to request a later check out i was denied because i did not have a premium membership, which i could not register for due to full booking the next night. what it comes down to is that, while i experienced superior customer service, i chose this over a different hotel that offered rooms $20 cheaper where they did have fridge/microwave/24hr pool/hot tub/probably wouldn't have overcharged my card expecting a much better experience than i ended up having.

medium walk - there is an arcade with a cool sports bar called gameworks at 7th and pine area which is maybe a 10/15 minute walk from the hotel. it would be great for either a family or grown up outing. also, the paramount theater (this was my destination when i stayed) is right up in the same area.

A Week in Seattle
M & M Nov 3, 2009
Overall the experience was good. The location is very close to several attractions. We were a few blocks(walking distance) ... from the Space Needle, Experience Music Project, Science Fiction Museum,Pacific Science Center, and the Monorail, which can take you to a major shopping area. Parking is not easy, and is limited(costs $10 per night). The front of the Facility is off of 99, which is also Aurora. The facility is immediately to your right, after you exit a tunnel, heading north. It is easily missed for a new traveller to the area. The breakfast was Fair. The eggs were from a carton and had little flavor. The rooms were very small.
Traveler type: Couples
The location is very good for a short stay close to several attractions. The area is very busy. I would suggest getting away from downtown for a longer stay, or split the visit between 2 locations. If you are going to Victoria island plan to stay one night in Victoria.

Efficiency Please Oct 19, 2009
The reason I chose this hotel was the price in comparison to its location close to downtown, and it did deliver on both ... accounts. Check-in was easy, the room was very comfortably laid out, the shower was DIVINE and the complimentary breakfast was well-stocked and delicious. However... I was not aware that overnight parking was $10 per day. That might've changed my mind about my pick. I also was charged twice for parking for the same day, and it was only by a whim that I had asked for a receipt for my parking payment, or else I would have had to pay the double-billing! Also, when the room was made up, while I did get fresh towels, etc, I could tell nothing had been cleaned, and the garbage was not emptied. It didn't bother me that much, but someone else might find that to be a problem. All in all, it met my needs well, but make sure you get receipts for things!
Traveler type: Business
Prepay for your parking and get a receipt. It'll guarantee you a slot in the underground parking garage, which is very helpful in rainy Seattle.
