quick weekend

this hotel was a good value for what we wanted to do. We stayed in town the weekend before a cruise and it was a good location because all the tourist attractions were within walking distance. The public transit was two blocks away and was convenient also.Room was on the small side so I wouldnt want to be there for more than a few days. But clean and fresh.

Great service, great price

I loved the aesthetics of this hotel. Old time charm with updated amenities. Although small, the rooms are well-equipped and the bed was VERY comfortable. The location was fantastic - right in the heart of downtown, I walked to everything I needed. The only drawback - and it was a big one - is that my room was poorly ventilated so it got very stuffy and stale. Even with the window open, the air didn't move. Too bad. I probably won't return until they upgrade the air system.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Tulio Restaurant, just one block away on 5th at Seneca is a wonderful upscale Italian restaurant. The dishes were inventive, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I especially recommend the arugula salad and the pasta and sausage dish - too yummy for words! Fabulous service too.

Nicely Remodeled

Was a single traveler going to International Lions Club Convention, Seattle. Nicely remodeled hotel. Everyone was courteous and helpful. Room size was on smaller end of average. Everything was clean and comfortable. Location was about 5-6 blocks from convention center and was an easy walk. About 4 blocks from the pier and dining. If you're not much of a walker, would recommend consider taking cab from pier to hotel due to steep incline. Walkable distance to Pikes Place. Located across street from Seattle Library which was an unexpected and interesting treat to visit especially the 6th - 10th floors spiral walkway.

Lots of typical chain restaurants. Like finding those of local flavor. Enjoyed sampling local micro brewed beer. Seafood, obviously was great. Starbucks on everyother corner, but lots of local owned coffee places where also a good stop.

Small room with a king bed

The room was small with a king bed. Bathroom is tiny with a fogged glass door. The tv reception is spotty. About a 1/3 or the channels listed didn't come in. The parking garage is not connected to the hotel so it's a little confusing lugging your luggage to the hotel. For a hotel that's been there since '28 though, it's not bad.

Ask at the desk for a place for breakfast. Right around the corner is a great place. Don't remember the name but they will.

business trip

The staff was very nice and attentive. It is a little walk from the cconvention center, but close enough. Rooms are small. There is NO counter space in the bathrooms and the heat did not work well. Rooms are small, but nice enough.

Nice older hotel

Nice hotel in downtown Seattle. Room was a little small, as was the bathroom. Reasonably clean room, fresh towels, etc. Wireless access was free and easily accessible. On the other hand, the room didn't have a desk, so I used the footstool as a desk for my computer.

Good location. Awkward parking situation

Attended a day-long seminar. Had time for enjoying the Seattle area. The hotel had no restaurant (functioning, that is) and parking was in a separate building accessible by walking out of the hotel to the parking garage. Awkward. Valet parking was an added expense. Would very likely not stay there again.

Great Location

The hotel was in a great location, a short walking distance to main attractions, and restaurants are close by. However, the rooms needs improvement it was a bit old, but it was ok if staying just for a couple of nights.

Not worth the price

Overall, not worth the price in my book! It had two elevators, of which one only worked. The showerhead came up as far as my chest and the afternoon desk clerk had the personality of a rock! Only thing going for it was the location and the bed was comfortable.
