Got what I paid for

It is a boutique hotel. Meaning, the rooms are small, the building is old and quirky, and you have to open a window to cool off. But the bed was comfortable, things were clean and maintained, the location is very good, and it was cheap. Staff is also very friendly and helpful. I was pleased.

Great location

The location was great, we felt centrally located and walked to most places. The service was great. The rooms were a bit tight / small. Well kept.

Inexpensive for Downtown Seattle

An older renovated type hotel, the room and bathroom are among the smallest I've ever been in. But its clean, its quiet, and compared to all the surrounding hotels for a single in downtown Seattle, its a steal. If you just need a place to sleep while in town this is probably one of the better deals available.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

You can get drinks/snacks from the drugstore right across the street next to the library. The Italian place that delivers to the hotel wasn't too bad either, prices were probably comparable to what you'd find in the area anyway.

Medium prices, medium accomedations

This hotel has a good downtown location with the public library across the street. The lobby is nothing to brag about but they have a nice large mezzanine for relaxing in. Good Seattle's Best coffee house attached and good restaurant across the street. Rooms are older and small. Clean and fairly quiet.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Two blocks away is the underground transit tunnel. You have to ask to find it but it offers free rides on any bus or train within the downtown area. The free rides last until 7PM. Seattle isn't that big that you can't get everywhere for free, and out of the rain.

A weekend in seattle

Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. We visited local restaurants and spent the morning at Pike Place Market. Hotel was built in '28 so it has old charm. The only negative part was since the building is older, you don't get quieter rooms. You hear everything outside the rooms, toilets flushing, janitoral services....but don't let this dismay you. Nice clean rooms, super friendly staff, and city view.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

Walk up the hill one block and go to Tulio's Italian restaurant. Wonderful old building with lots of wood trim and tiled floors. Excellent drinks, great food and nice staff.

Served the purpose

The hotel was in a good location for discovering the Seattle downtown area and only a mile walk to the Seattle Center. We did have issues with the toilet in our room and the lobby bathroom was disgusting. The hotel was a bit loud, but definately doable. They did take care of problems in short notice.

Nothing great

While this hotel has the benefit of being very close to the Seattle Art Museum and Pike Place Market, that is the only positive thing to say about this place. It is old and in poor repair. The door lock was broken, the bed was lumpy, the bathroom was so small you could barely step inside it. The room overall was very tiny, with a sagging window whose frame was pulling away from the glass, stains on the ceiling and walls. Pay a little more to get a nicer hotel that also has the location!
