Overview

The stately Alexis Seattle beautifully blends its historic heritage with chic modern amenities and decor. The Kimpton Hotel in Seattle has been described as an art-filled urban haven. The hotel features rotating exhibits from local artists, which debut every month during the city Art Walk.

The hotel lobby and guest rooms are bathed in comforting earth tones accented with contemporary furniture. Depending on which of the 121 guest rooms or suites you reserve, you can indulge in a jetted soaking tub, relax near a wood-burning fireplace or laze in a metal four-poster bed swathed in Italian Frette linens and a goose down comforter.

Highlights

Key facts

The Alexis Seattle pampers its guests. You can join a hotel-hosted wine hour every evening, workout in the 24-hour fitness center or shop in the adjacent boutiques. The steam room is available for private hour-long rentals while the Chroma Salon Spa offers a rosemary mint body wrap and in-room Aroma Journey massage. Complimentary bicycles are even provided for exploring the Seattle Waterfront four blocks away.

The hotel's chic Bookstore Bar & Cafe is a favorite gathering spot for bibliophiles, foodies and whiskey connoisseurs. Classic books are served up alongside more than 130 varieties of scotch and whiskey as well as a menu produced by Chef Caprial Pence, the first winner of the James Beard Award for Best Chef Northwest.

WATCH OUT FOR THE $50/NIGHT PARKING FEES!

Would not recommend Wed, Dec 16, 2015
FIRST BEWARE, you will be charged an additional $52 per night (including tax) for parking! The decor is well, tacky especially in the room. Looks like an year old lady with high blue hair did the decorating. Although there was room for a sofa, there was none. Just one ugly chair. There is no dresser in the room so forget about staying for a week unless you want to just keep pulling things out of your suitcase. Most boutique hotels I stay in at least have a sundries shop or store where you can purchase minor items and snacks at a slightly higher price to pay for the convenience. Not THIS place! They are out to suck out every last dollar you have in your pocket! Instead of offering some items at a slightly higher cost for convenience, they charge $5.00 for a $.99 bag of chips. A 6oz can of cashews was $15.00!!! HAHAHAHA! FORGET ABOUT MAKING COFFEE WHILE YOU SHOWER! This place doesn't even have a coffee maker in the room. Again, most boutique hotels and well most ALL hotels, have coffee makers in the rooms! All this being said, the one thing good I can say about this hotel is that the staff are amazing!!!!! It's too bad the hotel doesn't live up to the quality of the staff.

Special Occasion Hotel

Would recommend Tue, Nov 17, 2015
My husband and I stayed at the Alexis for our anniversary. We were given a very large room because we had booked an in-room massage. However the massage was canceled by a staff member the morning the service was supposed to take place. We were assured by the staff that they would take care of rescheduling the service. Unfortunately this took being passed off to 3 different staff members before the service was rescheduled to our satisfaction. Not the hotel's best moment but the rest of the experience was great. We particularly enjoyed & appreciated the Bookstore bar, the parking attendants and our way above average sized room.

Very pleased with the location to restaurants and Pike Place Market and the train station and ferry docks! Staff was very professional and friendly. Room was good size and very clean. In hotel cafe bookstore was excellent. Free wine tasting, sushi appetizer and fruit in lobby one evening was a great touch that didn't go unnoticed!

For a Kimpton, which I stay at a lot, this one did not impress. The location was good. The parking charge was exorbitant.

Room was so spacious that it could be characterized as a suite. We especially liked complimentary Starbucks coffee every morning and wine every evening. Easy mass transit to and from airport, and Seattle 's best attractions and wonderful restaurants easily within walking distance . Sweet complimentary bicycles for use by guests. Staff attentive and delightful.
