Luxury at a great price.
We walked to the waterfront, to Pike Market, to the Seattle Center...the hotel is in a great location. It is so nice to be downtown with everything near by. Even better, close the curtains at night and have no noise or outside lights interrupt your sleep. Being able to have a bite to eat or an evening cocktail in the hotel was a plus. I will recommend the Alexis to anyone travelling to Seattle.

Pretty tranquil despite central location
Fast check in. Asked for late check out a day in advance - no problem. The room was spacey and clean, good job housekeeping!! An excellent little bar; surprisingly well stocked! Not the first time at a Kimpton hotel, will come again!

Just across the road is McCormick & Schmicks. What a great little eatery! Excellent seafood (try sturgeon and rockfish; definitely crab spread for starters!), and a wonderful bar. If you sit at the bar, say hi to Darren, remind him of "baseball is just simplified cricket"...

Great hotel - would stay there again
Great location, great staff, very, very comfortable beds. Plus the bar and wine reception are great. And...they have a lobby dog. Doesn't get much better than the Alexis.

Great Location
Clean. Very helpful staff. Great location if you want to walk to Pike's Place Market, Art Museum, ferries, etc. Only drawback is that rooms are to some extent designed to be stylish rather than practical (e.g. very little counter space in the bathroom, poor lighting for reading except bedside lamps).

Great DowntownSeattle
Something other than a cookie cutter chain! Plush quiet room. Great downtown location-between Ferries and Pike St. Mkt. Restaurant was closed for remodeling but bar was cozy and serving food. Staff was great. Only drawback is that, like most downtown hotels, parking gets expensive fast. Spacious room. All in all very pleasant.

My review of Alexis Hotel - a Kimpton Hotel
We were upgraded to a suite because our first room was not satisfactory. The air was not working properly and the room was not very big.

Great place to experience Seattle!
I chose the Alexis based on having stayed at another of the Kimpton hotels - the Vintage Court, which we also liked. The Alexis hotel personnel were particularly friendly and helpful. It is in the perfect location - close to the water front, shopping and many dining establishments. We had a great view of the water and enjoyed watching the ferry and ship activity. Our room was very spacious, as was the bathroom, which had plenty of counter space. I especially liked the large storage drawer beneath the vanity. Our dining at the hotel was limited to breakfast, and it was super! The wine receptions were icing on the cake. I can't think of a single negative thing to say about the Alexis. Can't wait to return!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Many of the waterfront restaurants are nearby - only about a block. The Smoked salmon tacos at Elliott's are superb. Baco, across the street, has an active hour hour gathering. Other restaurants are only a block or two away. One of the most renown steak houses in the country is only a half block away.

Alexis
My only disappointment is that we were put in a room right off the street and it was very noisy until 1am both nights. Also, the hotel is going through painting and the walls were covered in plastic so I never saw the artwork.
