Hilltop Inn Magnuson Hotel

Carpet and bedding appeared stained, Overall cleanliness was OK, but the stains grossed us out. We were in one of the rooms that overlooked the lobby/breakfast area which was surprisingly loud in the AM with a constant BEEP BEEP to remind someone their waffle needed attention. Especially charming was the VCR (yes VCR not DVD, no not a DVD/VCR Combo) an actual VCR attached to our Analog TV. Staff were friendly and helpful but hotel needs updating. This place does work during peak season.

Easy to find, easy parking. I slept so well in that bed! Breakfast was nice but since im allergic to dairy I wish they had soy milk or something. I'm also allergic to animals so I appreciated that they limit pets to the first floor. Their pool is open late, which is awesome.

Mattresses not very comfortable. Hole in ceiling on first floor leading to rooms. Needs some updating. Pool temperature became cold in the evening. Hot tub and sauna temperature too hot.

Rated as a 4 star when booked but less than a 2. If you are going to have a hot breakfast, at least have real creamer and not powdered hospitality and real eggs are only 2 dollars a dozen please do not serve eggs from a 2 gallon container.

The main reason I stayed here was to use the sauna and to have a night out of my apartment during my spring break since I was not able to go home. I have worked at a hotel before, and was underimpressed by the hotel restaurant's service. I walked into the Hilltop Restaurant TWICE the night I stayed, once a half hour after it opened and the second time 40 minutes after it had opened -- both times to be greeted by no one with not an employee in sight. First impression was this and it kind of irritated me, but I just planned to get room service later instead. I arrived back to my room a little late, but still knew I had about 20 minutes before the restaurant closed and called down to order a salad. [...] was unable to find the cook since they were near close, and therefore I had to drive myself somewhere else to eat once again. Suggestion: Do NOT advertise as being open until 10pm if you plan to turn the kitchen off prior, maybe instead advertise as being able to serve food up until 10pm but for courtesy reasons do not call to place an order past 9:30pm (right as I was parking my car I saw some guests walking into the restaurant with the "open" sign still on). In the morning, on Sunday, we were told breakfast would be served until 10 am (and it said so in our room inside of the binder on our desk, as well). Luckily though, we walked down at 8:45 am and the breakfast bar woman closed it down at 9am as opposed to 10am. Another guest arriving at 9:05am did not seem pleased.Aside from that, the room was decent and I enjoyed what I was there for -- the sauna and a good night's sleep.

great location. Close to college and old town area where you find alot of restaurants and bars. All staff members were very friendly.

Rm 121 Carpet in dire need of cleaning or replacement. As we were leaving, noticed the box springs for bed nearest window had blood all over it. Someone must have had a bloody nose or something. Truly gross to say the least. Although we saved some money, I will definitely look the room over if we ever stay there again.

We went there to visit the WSU, spent 3 nights . The only thing we thought the hotel could have some kind of toast for breakfast besides waffles. Cause some people don't eat waffles..But besides that there's lots to eat for .. and also the rooms could be vacumed at least every other day..But the place was nice and quiet and very restful ..

We stayed at this hotel to take my son to WSU and set him up. It was clean and the free food was good. Otherwise, I do not have high expectations under the circumstances, was not disappointed, and was actually pleasantly surpised about the snacks.
