We were delighted with our accommodations! What a surprise to know we had a separate sitting room, complete with kitchenette and corner fireplace … it was perfect in every way. It was very comfortable, clean and spacious.
And what a lovely view
from our balcony … mesmerizing watching the waves come crashing to shore.
If you are going to ocean Shores in the winter and expect there to be lots going on wait until the summer but if you are looking for a quiet couple of days and get lucky enough to get picture perfect weather like I did nothing is better. There is
plenty to do if you want to take your time and go with the flow. The hotel had everything we needed, very friendly Terri was very sweet suggesting place to eat and she was right on. The week-end have more shops and museums open so if you want to see some of that be sure to be there at least one of the week-end days. Just what I needed a relaxing yet fun couple of days at Ocean Shores!
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Long walk from hotel
The espresso stand in the parking lot of the grocery store had great espresso. Only one we check out but it was good every time and I enjoy my coffee
Per the travel website person who helped me when booking, we were to be in a 3rd or 4th floor room for which we paid extra. Upon check-in, the hotel had us scheduled in a 2nd floor room. After some debate the check-in clerk did move us up to a 3rd
floor room directly across from the elevator so we could hear all hallway traffic. The bathroom door would not latch shut - due to (presumably) swelling of the door from moisture - and had to be propped closed with a bench from the room. Nothing special about the hotel. The happy hour prices on the food selections in the lounge were reasonable. Great cheeseburger!!!
the room was perfect. The "Fab Four" went to the wine fest in Ocean Shores which was a block away so the location was perfect. The room was very spacious and with a little sitting room with ocean view. Great time was had by all
Great view of ocean, even when it was raining. Convenience was important and the Shilo Inn has that. The room was clean and comfortable. The dining was okay but had better at some other restaurants.
Overall, I would definitely stay at the Shilo
again. It is worth the cost for the peace and quiet.
