Living on Past Glories
OK who doesn't love the "Sound of Music". A very nice lodge and accomodations. Overall a nice property but for the money you can do better. Still have the runs after spending $150 on dinner for 2. Fire alarm beeped every 1.5 minutes for the entire weekend due to a low battery. When I reported this to the front desk, all they said was that a work order had been placed. For $300/night I expect more.

A most pleasant stay.
The staff at the Trapp Family Lodge is dedicated to serving their guests. Service is as good as it gets. The facility is very confortable and the setting is outstanding. Although we were very busy during our stay, it is the perfect place to do nothing but enjoy the surroundings.

Na, ja
The setting is gorgeous, the hotel charming but when you are on the road all day and want a nice quiet relaxing dinner and are told that the attire my young daughter was wearing was not "business casual" enough to eat in the main dining room and are directed to the "lounge" next door where ther is someone playing the piano too loudly for the small room and we couldn't even converse with each other while paying 25.000 per entree??!!! Disappoining!

Money-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
The Shed restaurant. Has a very nice menu for at least 8 dollars less per person. Lake Placid is a better value for the same type of hotel and setting.
