You're not staying at the Ritz Carlton but it's still great!
This is a family style, motel/resort. Go in with the right expectations and you'll enjoy it! Rooms are clean, location is great, huge property with lots of stuff to do, lots of options as far as rooms go (there are suites you can rent with wood burning fireplaces), price is right! As long as you're not looking for a high class resort that is bent on 5 star service, this place will provide all that you need at one of the best prices you'll find in Stowe.

Friendly staff made for memorable stay.
We were welcomed by very friendly staff and the grounds were well-kept and spacious although close to busy road.However it quieted down at bedtime and we were comfortable.There is plenty of sitting areas around the grounds and walking trails.Only wish we we here longer than 1 night.

It was a little hard to find places after dark as there was little lighting. We also found the meals to be quite pricey.

Great Value
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Located close to everything we wanted to do in the Stowe area. Will stay here again.

There is no nightlife in Stowe. Visit the sites, have an early dinner - everything is closing down by 10 pm

This is an excellent place to stay!
[...] I was not disappointed. The owner greeted us on arrival, told us she was upgrading us, showed us where we could play tennis and swim for free, and offered us one of about 30 bicycles that are there for guests for free. I had not even noticed when I booked that there was a complimentary breakfast. Usually in a motel you expect 'continental breakfast' to equate to a moldy old bagel and cornflakes. Here, however, there were a range of different (white, brown, multigrain) breads, muffins and bagels, a dozen cereals, 5 flavours of oatmeal, several types of pastries. When we signed out the owner invited us to come back and use the facilities in the future if we were in Stowe and even if we weren't staying at her motel! As an ex-innkeeper myself I know how much effort and expense the owners has put into this operation and its standards. The room was spotless, comfortable and well appointed with a big tv and very hi-speed internet. I would stay here again and again.

The family restaurant next to the graveyard across from the motel only has one vegetarian meal (a vegetarian burger). Their recipt boasts that they have been converting vegetarians to meat for 14 years. I am not sure why they would boast of such an healthy pastime but they failed with us. If you want colonic cancer eat here. Otherwise I would try anyone of the other places in Stowe.

The staff was very helpful, the room clean. The fireplace was a great feature. The kitchen was quaint but functional.

Convenient for winter skiing
The room was large, the king bed very comfortable, having kitchennette a big plus. Location is very convenient for skiing, and also close to the down town. We did x-country skiing - it took 5 min to get to the trails. Staff was very nice and helpful. The cleanliness of the room was much less then perfect. The wireless internet is not avaialbe in all rooms, and was not available in our room. I was told that it is always available in the game room - did no work there either.
