The sheets on the bed ...
The sheets on the bed were dirty, the room was very hot even if outside it wasn't. It was quiet and calm. The general feeling was that room wasn't clean. The hotel was under renovation. We were very disappointed, we don't recommend that hotel at all.

great location, poor service
We were looking for a relaxing getaway with time for snowshoeing on the mountainside and a bit of pre-Christmas shopping. The location was good for us, right in the village, but the service was unfriendly at best. Although the room was clean on arrival, tissues were not replaced when they ran out, coffee service was not replenished (or even cleaned) and requests for missing items were promised but not delivered until 24 hours later when we asked a second time. The luxury rooms are in a separate building and during the winter it is inconvenient to go outside to get to the sauna and jacuzzi and even to the restaurant where there was not even a coat-rack to hang up our coats. They advertise (and have) a heated outdoor pool that is open all winter, but they don't keep it hot enough to make it very likely that anyone will use it during the few hours it is open. Overall, the experience was OK, but definitely not worth the money, even at the discounted price we paid. Stowe was also a bit of a disappointment for restaurants--we tried several in a variety of price ranges and did not find any that we could really recommend (including Jamies on Main, which was recommended for breakfast on another website, but was nothing special).

Short drive from hotel
Weissner Woods, part of the Stowe Land Trust, has a beautiful set of trails for easy snowshoeing. It also connects to another extensive private trail systems that visitors are welcomed to use by a sign at the sugar shack.

Cosy and romantic
It was generally a very pleasent stay. Location of the hotel was very good, it was near to food and not far fm hiking areas which was the purpose why we went there. Hotel served complimentary tea as well and the cookies and brownies were lovely. We enjoyed those very much. We liked the room but we thought that it would have been nice to have a small fridge where we could put some fruits that we bought and drinks if we wanted them. The bed was a little harder than I liked it. I also noticed that for some reason the hotel's cleaning service took away the shampoo and body wash lotion that was provided by the hotel. We used it for only one nite and then the 2nd day they cleaned the room it seems that they took all those away and did not replenish them. It was a good thing we had our own so I did not ask for more. But it should have been replenish.

Jacuzzi in the room?! terrific.
Super easy check in. Very large, comforatable room (king bed with jacuzzi in the room). Extremely quiet area tucked away from the main street. We enjoyed the shopping plaza and Ski Museum next door and it was simple to drive up 108 towards Mt Mansfied and all the other attractions. Dinner at The Whip was also excellent and reasonable priced. I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone, and we're thinking of coming back in the winter to enjoy the ski season.

Short drive from hotel
Stoweflake Inn/Spa has a small chip and putt course you can play even if you're not a guest. The day rate was reasonable and also included access to their on site pools, spa, and locker rooms/showers. Great for that last day of travel if you're out hiking and want to get cleaned up before driving home.

Good weekend getaway...
We very much enjoyed our stay but felt that the room was a little outdated. The teeny tiny stall shower, older looking carpet and old looking bed seemed to just be a little past its peak. The service was great however, and we loved the general proximity to downtown Stowe.
