Where's the hot water

I can say the only problem I had was the sink handle was loose and not much hot water. A call was put in to front desk and I was told it would be looked at that day. Well I was there for two days and it was never touched. When I checked out and said again it wasn't looked at they were confused as to what I was talking about. But overall it was a nice stay.

Clean modern Hotel with good amenities for the price

This hotel is stationed five minutes from downtown Burlington and within an hour from many of the big ski areas. The staff was friendly. The pool, hot tub and sauna were superior to those at a resort I was staying in the previous two nights. Would definitely recommend.

Good value

We were very pleased with the staff and accommodations. On our return, Sunday, throom we were assigned was not up to scratch. After talking with the office staff, we were assigned a new room.

Good place to stay

Staff was friendly and helpful with all needs. The room was clean and comfortable and quiet. I would stay ther again. I was there for a family funeral and other relatives were staying there as well and the staff was extremely helpful. The hotel was ideally situated for places we need to be in Shelburne as well as Burlington

An okay stay

Room was clean. A/C in room didn't work very well and in-room phone didn't work, so couldn't ask the front desk for a wake-up call. The website, etc. includes a picture of the lake, but this hotel is not on the lake and you can't see lake from the hotel. The breakfast was fine.

More like a motel than a hotel.

We were disappointed with our stay at Holiday Inn Express in South Burlington, VT. The 1st 2 mornings we woke to no hot water for a shower. On both days the staff told us that they were "resetting" the water heater but by 11am we gave up. Sounds like an excuse for the fact they have too small of a water heater for the number of guests. On the 2nd day I decided I would would instead relax in the hot tub but I found that it too was about 80 degrees. Also, the railing wobbled a lot and I could lift it out of the ground. Further there was black mold in the floor tiles all around the hot tub. Lastly, the breakfast facility was grossly insufficient for the number of guests. On our 1st day we came down to breakfast to find all tables full and dozens of people literally pushing each other to get the last scraps of microwaved eggs and sausage. This was a bit overwhelming of a way to start the day. Despite the obvious insufficiency the staff started clearing the breakfast away at 9:28 so that nothing was available by the 9:30 closing and several people were left in the lurch asking if they could possibly have a carton of milk or banana. Fortunately I found a reduced rate but my sister in the neighboring room paid $150. Either way we both paid too much considering these gross deficiencies! On the plus side the beds and pillows were very comfortable, the staff was very nice and though most of the breakfast was mediocre at best, the cinnamon rolls were yummy. Also, it is located right next to a restaurant/ bar which was convenient. Being an "Express", note that there is not a fridge or microwave in the room.

Pretty darn good

Stayed several nights while in town for a wedding. Comfortable, spacious room, everything was clean. Breakfast was the usual (but those cinnamon rolls are great!). Friendly staff, good location. Three minor issues: 1) they do full linen service every day, which I find environmentally unfriendly; 2) I wish there were more power outlets in the room; 3) the tub needed Drano. Overall a good experience.
