Deplorable

Burlington hotels were full this weekend so we took the last room available at this Econolodge. Our room was in disrepair. The bathtub was moldy and not caulked. It actually rocked. I would not shower. The vents were dirty/dusty and the sliding glass door was so full of condensation that we could not see out What made it worse is that we paid $175 dollars!! Today the room is going for $82. At any price this room was unacceptable! "No frills" hits a new low here.

Conveniently located for our needs.

We travelled to Shelburne, Vt to attend the college graduation of our granddaughter. The hotel was adequate for our needs. I must commend [...]who was the man on duty at the front desk late Sat afternoon when we arrived. We made the mistake of leaving the lights on in our rental auto while we were at dinner. At 8 PM we discovered that our battery was dead and we needed to depart hotel at 7:30 AM Sun morning. I was literally in a panic. He went to great efforts to help us out. He pulled his vehicle next to ours and used his own battery cable to try to give our battery a boost. It did not work and he than helped us call Hertz, who subsequently came to hotel and started our car. In addition, another couple who we were meeting at hotel arrived after midnight and he gave them note from us so that they were aware of our early morning plans. On the negative side, I have never stayed in a hotel where there was no hair dryer in the room. Also, the water pressure in the shower was so poor, it was almost impossible to take a shower there.

Predatory Management

After paying in full when booking [...], upon arrival I gave them my credit card as requested for and 'incidental charges'. The management disputed that I had paid in full and charged my credit card an additional $10.00. A small amount, true, but unethical. I would warn travelers to avoid this motel regardless of what prices they advertise. They are thieves.

Travelers Beware!!!

I booked my reservation on line with [...]with the understanding that I was bringing my dog. On arrival at the motel I was accosted by the owner, who's lack of use of the English language did not help in conveying why he was attacking me. I paid in full on line when I made the reservation. He added charges to my credit card fraudulently. And he accosted me again in the morning. I would not recommend staying at this motel, even if it were free.

For a place to sleep, couldn't ask for m

I went to Burlington to visit my son and 10 month old grand daughter with my 20 year old disabled daughter. We needed an inexpesive place to sleep and this turned out to be very nice, clean and affordable. The location was fine, less than 15 minutes to Burlington. Could not ask for more for the money!

Good value for the price

A very affordable suite with lots of room to relax. We were traveling to see a college for our high school senior and would definitely stay again if that college is chosen. I did notice that the wallpaper was peeling a little but no big deal. The kitchenette was very spacious but unfortunately there were no dishes or pots to be able to use it. If the bathrooms were a bit bigger and the decore updated I think I would be able to rate it at 4-5. I have stayed in better and worse hotels. It had a very charming small town atmosphere very close to a big city so I felt very safe and comfy. The noisy I checked above was only in reference to the noise from the room above us when the shower was running early in the morning, it was actually a very quiet area and there were alot of attractions to see very close by.

awful room

Booked a non-smoking standard room at the Econo-Lodge Shelburn. Our room was quite small, but suited our budget at the time. After spending an hour in the room I started having respiratory problems (something that never happens to me.) The room had visible signs of mold around the window frames and in the bathroom. There was actually a visible hole through the wall going straight outside! Eventually I contacted the front desk and explained to them that I was having an allergic reaction. They offered to put me in another room, but all that was left was a smoking suite. I had to pay for the upgrade (15$) but it was worth it (despite the fact that it was a smoking room, at least my respiratory issues ended.)

I have stayed in many more better places

The bathroom toilet seat was so loose, it was dangerous. After flushing, on many occasions, the ball mechanism did not seat tight, and the water would turn on again. During the night, this was very annoying. The bathroom sink faucet was extremely difficult to turn on, and when successful, the water came out with such a force that it splashed over EVERYTHING! (The kitchen faucet also dripped.) These are items housekeeping should be aware of and have fixed. It was nice to have TV's in both rooms. It would have been nicer to be able to find out what programs or movies were playing. With no TV guide or local paper on the premises, and no guide available on TV channels, this became a big negative. (The last night there we couldn't even access the internet on WiFi. At age 73 and 71, a luggage rack would have been appreciated. The breakfast room was so cramped, it was difficult to get into one's seat. For the number of rooms at the motel, it was almost inadequate.
