Needs some TLC

This looks like it was a beautiful hotel in the height of it's day. The rooms and grounds are in desperate need of updating. It was a comfortable stay and things seemed neat and tidy, but definitely needs some TLC. They did have some awesome samples from various companies which I thought was a great way for a company to promote people trying their products! We tried them all and I know I'll be buying a couple of them due to the samples like Emergen-C, Ludens, Tom's of Maine products, Wheat Thins, etc. I think more companies *should* do this to promote their products. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool area looked nice although we didn't use the pool. The continental breakfast was just ok. They have a nice dining area but it would be nice to have eggs even if they were just boiled eggs or some other protein and have a few more fruit choices. You can hear things going on in the hallway like most hotels which is bothersome when you'd like to sleep in but have early riser guests in surrounding rooms making noises and talking or closing doors loudly. This would be a good place for a wedding party or large family group to stay as all the rooms open up into a big atrium which is a nice in certain situations where everyone knows each other (or wants to know each other). Overall, I would stay here again if I'm in the area. It is a nice hotel in a great location, just a bit worn.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

If visiting in this area there is a GREAT restaurant called Sugar and Spice. They were typically packed the weekend we went so you might expect a wait a bit, but it's well worth it! The staff is great and so is the food! We had breakfast there rather than at the hotel which offered the very basics for breakfast (mostly carbs: waffles, cereals, bread, no eggs, limited fruit along with the typical cran, oj and apple juices.)

Good bang for the buck

We chose this hotel over North Star Lodge which is a little bit closer to Killington but much overpriced. Cortina is still one of the hotels that you want to stay in if you ski or snowboard and you want to get to the mountain quick. The staff was friendly, however I feel that the swimming pool and hot tub could be opened much longer. They close it at 8pm so we didn't even have a chance to get there. Everything else was very good.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

We usually go to the Outback pizza place right in Killington for a great pie and a variety of draught beer.

3 Day Ski Weekend

Stayed in Large room with fireplace. Large comfortable queen beds. Room facing highway, poor balcony door sound insulation, waking up to highway noise. The room door also needs to be sound proof, you can hear people talking or heading to breakfast. Free Breakfast offered a wide variety of buffet foods. Roman tub in room is useless since there is poor water pressure to fill. Next time, I will ask for a room facing away from highway, not a bad hotel compared to others at Killington.

Five minutes from Pico and 15 minutes from Killington

I stayed here with my two teenage kids for a long ski weekend. I will definitely stay here again next time I go back to the Killington area. This hotel was recently (fall 2011) renovated. The rooms are very nice and very clean. The staff is helpful and friendly. There is a lobby with a central fireplace that is a great place to go at night to browse the internet or read a book (internet is free). There is a free breakfast that is wonderful (lots of choices and good food) however they do not serve lunch or dinner. There are tons of great restaurants and bars very near to the hotel. There is also a Sports Authority in Rutland about 15 minutes away if you need to buy some last minute ski gear but don't want to get robbed on the mountain.
