Good Stay

We had a great stay at the hotel. Everything was clean, the beds were amazing, and what little we interacted with the staff, they were very polite and friendly. However, upon checkout we learned we had a $10.00 charge for accessing internet in the room. Seriously, who charges for internet??? This would be the only negative part of our stay.

too many extras

I have stayed here many times since my daughter was a student at UVM and now lives in Burlington. The room is very comfortable and the hotel is nice but I can't believe they charge 9.99 a day for wifi and 14.99 & 16.99 for movies - ridiculous. It turned me off since there are so many other hotels that offer more.

discouraged

My daughter and I have been planning this trip for 2 years. We were both excited but on a budget like many. So I took a chance and used a discount booker and got a good deal. When we checked in the staff was great. However my expression soured as soon as we got to the room. It smelled musty and it was dark and unappealing. I was going to go ask for a different room but my daughter talked me out of it. we were only there for two nights. Only two plugs in the room worked out of four. one was behind the tv. my daughter wanted to rent a movie but that didn't work either. It was 8pm the service man came(very nice) offered a different room but my daughter was already taking a shower. I had to make the coffee in the bathroom. the only other working plug. The only thing appealing about the hotel that I could see was the lobby. I was so dissappointed I thought they had a good reputation. I wondered if I didn't use discount booker I would have gotten a better room. Not sure I'll use a discount booker again because of this. I also won't recommend the hotel.

Really good experience

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton. It's fairly close to downtown, and it was a nice hotel. In all honesty, I don't know if I'd pay full price (I think the rate that night was 159$; we paid 119$ through this website) but overall it was a really good experience.

Great location for UVM graduation!

The room was a good size, the video selection was very good, the breakfast buffet was not very good, but quick. My room was not made up after the first night, so I had no new towels and the bed was not made - strange. The lobby was nice and the location was perfect for my son's UVM graduation. Very expensive (over $500) for two nights, but I guess they overcharge on the graduation weekend. So, could have been better, but I was pleased with the location and overall feel of the hotel.

Disappointment

We had 5 coming for my graduation, our first trip to Burlington. The hotel did let us check in early, because no one was there, but it was all downhill from there. I had asked for a handicap room since I have an artificial knee. This was part of a travel package with our airline tickets, they only offered us one room and we decided later we would have to have 2. I couldn't book the extra room as part of my package so I called the hotel directly and was told there was nothing that could be done to link the two rooms so they could at least be side by side, if not adjoining. she said the only way to do that was to call the morning of our arrival at the hotel and request that directly. Since we were leaving at 4am to catch our flights we did not get that done. We were at the hotel by 11:00am so we were able to get 2 rooms side by side, and supposedly were they upgraded colonial style rooms. There were wooden headboards and a chair with a hassock but other than that I saw nothing that made them special. Also the rate we were charged for the 2 rooms were different and the rate first quoted me was no longer available when I clicked on the purchase button, within the hour after searching. The dining room experience the next morning for breakfast was EXTREMELY slow, and even though we were there over an hour before the graduation time, and there was no crowd we could not get seated, place and order or get food in a timely manner. There was no buffet and what they had was very expensive from our perspective--$14 for French toast--one of the cheaper items. I had to leave early to get to graduation on time while the rest of my family finished their meals and so parking and seating for graduation was not great, and usually we are early for such events. We did not eat in the hotel again during our entire stay it was such a disappointment. I slipped and fell in the shower that morning with such a high edge on the tub, and sprained my ankle. My mother in law had forgotten her medicine and we tried to have it shipped overnight to us by 8 the next morning before graduation. Although we made all the arrangements with Fedex and my son in our hometown by phone, when we informed the front desk we were expecting a package by 8 am they said no we weren't because they receive no packaged before 11, because they send all of their packages to their loading dock and do not accept guest packages at the front desk. It took a couple of attempts to convince them that they could get the medicine to us before 11 since we would be in graduation by then, and although it was delivered by FedEx on time we got it over an hour late, with us doing the majority of the legwork. My husband and daughter are both Starwood Club members but at check-in that got us nothing, a first for my husband, No upgrade in room status, etc., and the hotel was not full. On our last night there there was so much noise in the hallway both late night and early morning we did get a discount at check-out but only after a request from us for their lack of being able to do anything. The location was great for our plans and convenient for all we wanted to do but the restaurant had terrible service and was very high priced and they were way less than hospitable. We have traveled a lot and stayed all over the country and this was one of our bad experiences.
