very nice room

The hotel is very nice. It is clean, centrally located and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My only complaint was that the soda vending machine was out of supplies. Since that is the only place guests can get a drink, that should be watched more closely.

Terribly Rude Staff

Utterly horrible experience! The man and woman working in the office of this hotel are very rude, and do not understand the concept of customer service. I had the audacity to request that my sheets be changed after a one week stay of NOT having them changed. The woman actually argued with me, and told me that because the do not disturb sign was on my door in the early morning hours, my room would not be cleaned. Then 5 days later, and another 5 days of making the bed myself, the man told me that my request to have my bed done by the hotel staff was unreasonable!!!! He also told me this as I was getting off of work, in the lobby, in front of a number of other motel guests. Aside from terrible customer service, here are my pros and cons: 1. Wi/Fi with room, but you are not always able to connect. 2. Beautiful swimming pool, well maintained. It may not be as warm as some like. 3. The room and bath were very clean. The room was a nice size, the bath very small, with the shower being about 3' by 3', maybe 4' by 4'. No bathtub. The linens are dated with holes and stains, but they are clean. 4. The location is very noisy, with a lot of sirens, road traffic, and parking lot noises. 5. There are very few electrical outlets. When I pulled the mattress out to find an outlet to charge my cell, I found that the light cords were frayed with bare wires. I asked that electrical wire be put over the bare wires, and this request was completed immediately with no complaints by staff. All in all, I would stay here for only one night. After that, the staff seems to forget that you are a paying guest. There are much nicer motels about 1 mile away on Putney Road, all of which are close to numerous eateries.

just what you need

The Econo Lodge was fine. We had a little car trouble as we arrived and the staff was helpful in getting us information about who might be available to help us late on a Saturday afternoon, which was much appreciated. The accommodations were what you would hope to get for the price - clean rooms, clean bathrooms, cable and wifi worked. They allow pets, so it is a good place to stay if you want to go hiking with your dog. The "pet" rooms have a bit of an air freshener smell, but the non- pet rooms do not. All around I was happy with the place.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Sam's in DT Brattloboro is a great place to go for outdoor clothing. Not a discount store, but you can find good cheaper stuff in the clearance area. It is about 1.5 miles from the motel. Lots of good socks.

Snowbound

Motel is basic, as expected at this price range. Clean, functional, and breakfast a plus. The male owner isn't so friendly tho. Both myself, my wife, and at least three other pple who stayed there were yelled at because we were using the waffle machine "wrong" or taking too long toasting bread. As if it's our fault that the toaster is slow?

Basic, fine for the price

This is a basic, functional hotel -- about the best you could expect in this price range ($55/night). Rooms are clean but musty. Free wifi, which is great. CNN didn't come through on cable for some reason.

Ok place not that clean- surface clean but shower curtain was stained and needed to be changed had hair from previous guests and beadspread was Stained and carpet was pretty dirty too. The room was large and adequate ok location a little bit out of town but right next to a grocery store which is nice especially if you are staying for awhile.

Great little stopover

An excellent staff--incredibly friendly. Room (especially the floor) was a bit dirty, but rented it at a good price...so I'm not complaining. Order from Vermont Inn Pizza, just down the road. One of the best slices of pizza I've ever (ever!) had.

Get what you pay for

They really wanted to tack on a substantial amount to my bill for smoking in the room. I double checked to make sure I had a room for smoking. Had to really press my point [...].

Close to downtown Brattleboro and dining. Recommend the Flat Street Pub for excellent mircobrew beer and pub food.
