Inexpensive short stay

The place was average. Since it was an inexpensive place, I would not have expected much more. The free continental breakfast only offered bread types of options (no fruit when we stayed). The owners/workers were friendly and courteous.

Some fast food and chain sit down restaurants within walking distance. Downtown restaurants are a short (under 5 minutes) car drive.

Horrible

My room was atrocious. The TV came on way too loud every time, moreover, there was no remote control and the volume buttons on the unit changed the channel and sometimes the volume at the same time. The "Channel Up" button turned it off. The headboard came off the wall with a slight touch and the floor buckled when you walked on it. One of the lights didn't work. And my bedding had numerous cigarette burn holes, blood stains and other unsightly stains. I slept in my clothes on top of the bed. The continental breakfast was purely starch... and animal crackers? Really? For breakfast?

Horrifying

This was the most horrifying place ever!!! My friend and I took one look at the room and cancelled our reservation. We would have slept in the car before staying there. The smell that hit us when we opened the door was bad enough but the place was filthy. It looked like a place one rents by the hour. The woman at the front desk lied about the rates. [...] The place should be condemned. Avoid at all cost!

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!

We came to learn that this hotel has a reputation of being the grossest motel in the area. We went to check into our room and found bags still left in the room. We were told that those bags belong to the guy who shampooed the carpets. The carpets smelled horrid, the comforters were torn, there were flies in the room. Don't get me started on the bathroom. We did not want to touch anything. We asked for a different room due to the smell and condition. The front desk said there were no rooms available and offered us a candle to mask the smell. We have a 5month old baby and refused to stay there. Don't bother staying here. Stay anywhere but here. When trying to book another reservation at a different hotel and telling them our situation, we learned that this motel has a reputation of being the grossest in the area.

It was okay

For the price I paid per night, I do feel I got my money's worth. Although the linens were clean, there stains on a lot of them. Very nice for a small hotels version of a continental breakfast. Everything was fresh and the staff was friendly.

A lot of chain restaurants around which made it easier to go out to dinner without having to drive a long way.

Needs work

This hotel is very presentable from the outside but unfortunately needs some serious renovating inside: two light fixtures were without covers, the shower bar looked like it might fall off, the towels were very worn, etc. The woman who was at the desk and handling breakfast in the morning, was very competent, friendly, and helpful. It was very inexpensive and that's why we chose it, and got what we'd paid for.

Brattleboro is such a nice little town! We loved eating at the Mayan Restaurant 3Stones, and having a drink at Alici. (nice bartender named [...].) In the past we've also eaten at Adagio and a couple of other good spots.

Not America's worst

The rug needs a good cleaning. The plumbing and windows need an upgrade. The lady at the desk almost sent us to the wrong room. I nearly fell on a very slick walkway. Good TV.
