This was my second stay at the Alexander Inn. I came to celebrate my birthday as the inn makes me feel like a Queen! The rooms are lovely and luxurious, the garden is peaceful, the breakfasts are delicious, and the service is excellent.

Alexandra B&B Bennington

The B&B hosts were very friendly and a delicious breakfast was served the next morning. The area was scenic and the room we had was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It was a lovely stay during our honeymoon. We had arrived late in the evening and only stayed one night, but wish that we had had more time to stay at this location.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

A wide variety of attractions are in Bennington from Robert Frost's house and grave site, the Bennington museum with Grandma Moses paintings, a monument for the battle fought in 1777, and covered bridges that aren't too far from the town.

Bennington B&B

Clean, very comfortable, quiet, understated and cozy. Everything was as described. Breakfast was quite delicious and filling. Perfect place to stay while visiting Bennington College (very close), or for exploring Southern Vermont.

Very nice stay and location

We toured the Bennington area, tour the Battle Monument, found the three covered bridges (was difficult using map provided us). Streets in this town is worse than our home town, which is located around a lake

Are you kidding me....

Check inn was 3 pm. No one showed up until almost 4.We had to sit in our cars in the rain [...]The room was very nice, although the exterior is very shabby. After that we never saw the staff again. We were never told anything about the dinning room, and never saw the rest of the inn. There was nothing in the rooms that told us about the dinner or breakfast, and no one answered the phone. All we got was a key and a nice room. We had to go out for everything else. If the rest of the inn is lovely as the other reviews claim, we wouldnt know we never saw it. There was also no one around to check us out. I just through the key on the desk and got out as fast as I could.I book rooms mostly on the reviews and am so disapointed. Maybe it was better before but they really need to get it together now. Bennington is great just stay somewhere else. I could have stayed at the Best Western and got better service. I would have saved myself about 120$

Alexandra B and B, Bennington, VT

We wanted to attend an exhibit at the Clark Museum in Williamstown, MA. Since it was rather last minute, I choose the most suitable for us on Orbitz even though it was a short distance away. I am so happy I chose Alexandra B and B. The grounds were lovely, room quaint and immaculate, staff friendly and accommodating. Breakfast in the morning was the best I've had in a long, long time!Everything was so much better than the best of the chain motels we've stayed in previously. While we were unable to take in the local sights due to time constaints, we plan on returning soon.

B and B Stay

A nice, clean B and B that is well run. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food was very nice. Not quite the classic, quaint bed and breakfast you might expect in VT, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Not enough words...

I can only sing the praises of the Alexandra. I was traveling alone to visit our son @ college. From the moment I entered the lovely suite until the moment of hugging [...] goodbye, everything was just "so completely right."I stayed in the new wing and had all the comforts of an inn with the added conveniences of a back door which opened onto a lovely field and a front door just steps to warm, freshly baked goodies, coffee, tea, full bar and friendly, helpful innkeepers. Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were perfect. We have been traveling to Bennington frequently for the past four years and no other place we have stayed at can compare. I would and will highly recommend this inn to anyone traveling to Bennington. My only regret is that we hadn't found the Alexandra when our son was a freshman.
