Staff goes the extra mile!

We took a Thanksgiving holiday get away here and it was one of our best hotel experiences ever! Every staff person we encountered was focused on pleasing--right down to bringing us a free snack to the room to tide us over until our 3pm reservation to the Thanksgiving buffet dinner (which was amazing). We slept in on Friday, but no problem getting later maid service, extra towels, etc. Quiet, cozy, beautiful room with in-room coffee/tea brewer. A new spa is coming and the owners were doing promotional free massages in the hotel lobby--Fantastic! Roman pool was a little chilly, as was the jacuzzi...but great workout room. Close to lots of things; an easy 30-min. drive to Hollywood Casino. Unique gift shop, great jazz bar with sports TV. We'll be back to this great 90-min. get away from D.C.!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Want a hearty delicious hot breakfast, "no frills"? Walk across the street to the Picadilly Grill and have "Denise" hook you up with a scrumptious cheese omelet, fresh made hash browns, chewy bacon and toast for barely $8. Old-school diner stools and lots of "local color" with the crusty old timers.....

Best Stay Ever!

This was my first visit to the east coast and i couldn't have chosen a better hotel. The place was absolutely gorgeous, the room was perfect and very comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside to this hotel is the parking. They charge you $4 a day for parking but if their lot is full you have to pay to park in the garage and still get charged for parking. I'll be moving to Winchester soon and will definitely be booking this hotel for my wedding reception and getaway nights for my fiance and I.

An excellent restaurant. The only negative is that the wine list was formerly much better. Complain to Wyndham, it was apparently a corporate decision.

Wonderful hotel

Enjoyed staying at the hotel during the Apple Blossom Festival - it was central to all activities and I enjoyed strolling through town without having to walk anywhere. The hotel is beautiful, staff are outstanding and gracious. I will return!

Splendid

The hotel had an elegant atmosphere, but very personable and friendly. There was a historical feel to it, but everything seemed new and updated. Very nice restaurant with impressive menu. Very comfortable bed. Will stay here next time we return to Winchester.

A Beautiful Hotel

The hotel's renovations were tastefully done, and it could not have been located in a more central spot--within walking distance of all sights and restaurants. Some other reviewers commented on small rooms, a noisy atmosphere and unattentive staff which made me think twice before booking. However, I decided to give it a try and was glad I did. The room was lovely--bath very updated, clean and luxurious (a wonderful shower). The room size was not huge but very comfortable, we had a great, quiet night's sleep, and the staff was very pleasant and accomodating. Breakfast at The Dancing Goat was delicious, the outside dining beautiful, and the price was most reasonable.

What a grand hotel!

I had my wedding ceremony at the hotel. The staff couldn't have been more accomodating. The room we stayed in the night before the wedding was a basic room but was still grand. Marble countertops in the bathroom, fine linens, and lots of room. We stayed in a junior sweet the night of our wedding-WOW! The four poster king bed was awesome. The jacuzzi tub was perfect and the shower was amazing. We ordered room service and it was brought to our room promptly and was tasty! Even the piano bar in the lobby was great. I cannot say enough how wonderful this hotel is. Perfect for a nice weekend getaway. The only thing that was not so great was at times there is only one person at the front desk, which can cause delays in check in or if you have questions. Otherwise, superb customer service.
