Great value

The welcoming staff were indeed welcoming- very friendly, informative and most pleasant. The room provided all the comforts of home. Restaurants were easily accessible. We'll stay again on our next trip to North Carolina! ( it's about halfway from home to NC)

An Irene Escapation!

The Holiday Inn located on Front Royal Pike in Winchester, VA appears to be a new facility. The room was large enough for my wife and I. Comfortable and the all important for us, clean and well maintained No aging, distressed facility in need of a complete renovation while still demanding a premium price. The location for our purpose, an escape from the potential ravages of hurricane Irene, was perfect. Winchester is a scenic place for almost any escape. The historic district is a good place to laze away a day. I can recommend this facility to all of my family and friends. We did not dine at their restaurant so cannot pass judgement of offer comments.

Great stay, really nice hotel

This was a quick stay. The only employees we talked with were at check in and check out. The women working when we checked in was very nice and didn't seem to mind my young son's stream of comments and questions. It was his first time at a hotel, and he had a blast. The pool was smaller than I expected, but fine for kids. The room was very nice and cozy. Everything looks new.

Make sure you get directions - the hotel was a little hard to find. Fortunately we knew the area so we were able to figure it out.

Great overnight stay

We were in town for a singing competition at Shenandoah University. The hotel was beautiful (looked brand new). Lovely fireplace in the lobby. Our room was very nice, very comfortable beds, very clean, refridgerator, coffee pot. The workout room was beautiful and the dining room very nice with terrific waitress. I would stay here again definitely.

Good stopover

This wasn't the easiest hotel to find, although it is very close to I81. The surroundings are unscenic to say the least but it served its purpose very well as a stopover having driven through the Shenandoah National Park. The hotel itself is perfectly comfortable, although the air-con kept switching off during the night which meant that the room warmed up quite quickly. The meal we had in the evening was very good, however, and the staff were very helpful. Free internet access was also a bonus (especially as it was hard to find elsewhere). This was a convenient and comfortable stopover, but I wouldn't recommend going there for any other reason.
