Must have reservations at the tavern. Not really any nightlife. The Kings Tavern was good - allow 2 hours for dining.

I have stayed at this hotel before and I love the location to the historical area. I park my car in the underground garage ... and walk to restaurants, shops and movies. My room was exceptionally large but near the elevator. Why do people talk so loudly in hotel hallways after 11 p.m.?

Excellent place to stay! Check-in was quick and easy, parking is easy to access from the street. Location is awesome! Walk ... out the front door and you can see into the stadium of William and Mary College's Football field. 10 minutes to Yorktown/Jamestown Colonial site by car, 10 minutes on foot to Colonial Williamsburg. The main road in front of the Hotel leads to excellent shopping and is 5 minutes off I64. Orbits gave us a GREAT Deal on the room and the Staff at the Hospitalitity House were Great!

Our stay Nov 2009
Frequent Traveler Nov 9, 2009
We were attending a wedding that used one of the party rooms on the second floor. The rooms were OK, nothing particularily ... new, or fancy. The room wasn't particularily clean with some trash under the the bed. The hallway outside was fairly noisy until fairly late in the night. Parking was easy at the hotel. The most annoying thing was that almost all the staff seemed to be unhappy to be working and were unfriendly. Asking them a question (for example where can I get a coffee nearby) were generally answered with "I don't know" or a shrug of the sholders.

Great location for Colonial Williamsburg
Frequent traveler Nov 8, 2009
[...]The desk staff is a little unethusiastic but everyone else is very helpful. This was the first time I've eaten in the ... restaurant and the food was just okay. The only thing that really bothers me is that they ask you to help conserve water by hanging towels that can be used again before needing to be changed. I always do this and they still change the towels every day. The bathrooms need to be updated soon.

There are some great restaurants in Williamsburg but the best need reservations. Also, there is an additional Colonial Williamsburg tax added to these bills. If you're on a budget, there are lots of places to eat further down the road and even some excellent restaurants about 5 minutes away.

Fall Traveller
Fall Traveller Nov 6, 2009
Staff was extremely unfriendly at check in. [...] The room was across the hall from a wedding party that continued to party ... in the hall ourside our room from when we arrived at 3pm until 3am despite our complaints to the front desk and the patrons in the hall causing the noise. The WiFi that was advertised turned out to be $10.95 per day, and a $25.00 deposit had to be left at the front desk for any incidentials that we may incurr. Which included the delivery of a newspaper that you were automatically charged for unless you read the very small fine print on the packet that the room keys came with. Despite the fact that I stopped at the front desk immediately and declined the delivery of the paper, it was outside my door and not expecting it, I slid on it as I stepped out of the room at 6:30 am to get something out of the car. When I checked out of the room and complained to front desk, I was told that the rooms were assigned randomly and there was nothing that they could do. I have been to many weddings that required stays at hotels, and we were ALWAYS put on a separate floor so as not to disturb any other guests. This hotel obviously does not care about anything but getting a room filled and nothing else. And their advertisement of being 2 blocks from the historic district turned out to be more than 3 blocks from the merchant square to which left a total of 5-6 very long blocks to the history district ad the very least. This is an extremely old hotel who has long lost it's prime that still trying to project herself as the grand dame that she never was. Wallpaper that had paint on it from when moulding or ceiling was painted, worn carpeting and ill fitting sheets did nothing to add to a charm that was not there. The food choices were overated and over priced.

--Middle 6, Philly Suburbs, PA Aug 31, 2009
we wanted to eat at the restaurant in the hotel for dinner, which appeared to be "high end". When we entered the restaurant we found that they allowed smoking and the entire place smelled of smoke. Having a young child, as well as myself, I was very unhappy. We had to leave and find another restaurant that didn't allow smoking inside the establishment. However, we were told that come December 2009, it will be a smoke free establishment.
