Courtyard hotel with two restaurants near Colonial Williamsburg
The Williamsburg Hospitality House is across the street from the College of William and Mary. The colonial-inspired hotel attracts families visiting the school. Classic brick architecture blends in with Colonial Williamsburg. The rooms look textbook American, thanks to striped wallpaper, drapes with valances and rich wood furniture. Two intimate restaurants, including a garden bistro, add to the charm.

Highlights
  • Intimate hotel across from the College of William and Mary and two blocks from Colonial Williamsburg
  • Two restaurants
  • Free underground parking
  • Outdoor pool and fitness center
  • Meeting space for up to 400

Rooms
The 295 rooms echo Colonial Williamsburg style with periwinkle-toned floral bedding, striped wallpaper and elegant wood furniture. Windows look out to a brick courtyard landscaped with flowering trees, tables and a shaded garden. Standard amenities include color TV, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and high-speed Internet access for a fee.

Dining

There are two on-site restaurants at Williamsburg Hospitality House, 415 Grill and Papillon. Both of the restaurants achieve intimacy in an upscale casual setting. Diners enjoy the club ambiance at 415 Grill. The restaurant serves American classics such as crab cakes with the signature corn tartar sauce. Papillon is a brick-covered beauty illuminated by Parisian-like globe street lamps. The restaurant dishes up a seasonal breakfast buffet and bistro favorites in the garden.

A wonderful Christmas

Because our kids live too far away for a visit, we decided to do something special for the Christmas Holiday. Colonial Williamsburg fit the bill and we could not have been more pleased with the choice of our hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the lobby and restaurants were tastefully decorated for the Holidays and especially the servers and staff at both restaurants ( Papillion and the Grill) made us feel at home.If we ever decide to visit the area again, we will certainly stay at the Williamsburg Hospitality House again.

Hospitality House

This is easily our favorite hotel to stay at in Williamsburg (we come every year for a long weekend)--it is clean, quiet, and within walking distance from Merchant Square and the colonial town. The only drawback would be the expensive Wi-Fi access--$10 for a 24 hour period. So many hotels offer it for free that I was shocked to have to pay for the privilege! Still, the place itself is so great that I'd still stay there again.

Great Wm&Mary Location - Good Price

The Williamsburg Hospitality House is a wonderfully located facility next door to the College of William & Mary. My daughter is part of the Class of 2014. My family and I enjoy the convenience very much, as the College and Colonial Williamsburg are in walking distance. The decor leaves much to be desired. I would call it early-80s at best!!

Charming Hotel in great location

This is the second time we have stayed at the Williamsburg Hospitality House, and probably will always stay here when in Williamsburg, if it is available. It is a comfortable walk to Merchant's Square in Colonial Williamsburg, so we can leave the car in the hotel's underground parking garage. We enjoyed having breakfast at the hotel. The food was very nice, with some healthy options, and friendly service. The hotel staff were all exemplary: efficient and pleasant. The bedroom was very clean, the bathroom acceptable. I liked the decor. The whole hotel is quiet and classy, beautiful. There is a lovely courtyard at the center of the building that gives it an "old south" ambiance. The location is perfect for Historic Williamsburg and William and Mary College.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

We bought a season's pass at the Williamsburg Visitor Center, and then drove to the hotel, and left the car in the hotel underground garage. We could eat breakfast at the hotel, and then walk over to the historic district, walk back to the hotel in the afternoon and take a nap. It's nice to not have to return to the Williamsburg Visitor's Center and drive back to a motel if you want to take a break during the day.

Most convenient location

I'm a repeat customer at the Hospitality House. You can't beat the location if you're headed to William and Mary or Colonial Williamsburg. It's also very convenient to access the main business areas of Monticello/Lafayette Road and Richmond Road. Even if you're touring Yorktown or Jamestown, the Hospitality House is conveniently situated. Sure, it doesn't have the newest or most numerous amenities, but it's comfortable, clean, and welcoming.

Great Stay for Family Weekend

We stayed here for Family weekend 2010. I was looking for something convenient, but inexpensive because i was bringing my 10 and 12 year old boys. The reviews I read were mixed, but i don't know why. The hotel was exactly what i was looking for. The breakfast buffet was a little tired, would recommend leaving the hotel, there are lots of breakfast options to walk to (Try Aromas for great coffee and breakfast). The beds were small (doubles instead of queens, but i knew that before I booked. it was literally across from football field which was so nice on the day of the game.

Williamsburg Hospitality House

We selected this hotel mostly on the basis of its location, and in this respect the hotel met all expectations... where the hotel fell markedly short was in the fact that it is very, very, noisy as we could hear the TV and conversations from adjecent rooms as well as the traffic sounds from the hallways. The AC was horrendously loud, so much that my wife referred to it as the "propeller airplane" and it was defenitely an impediment to good night. A really bad aspect is that internet is not free and it cost a very unreasonable $9.95 + tax per day, further, despite what it is claimed by the hotel it does not have a business center, so to connect to the internet guests have no alternative and must fork the $9.95. The internet service is provided by AT&T and I had the bad fortune of being charged twice for a day... the front desk management was very attentive in assisting me to deal with this issue directly with AT&T, and I was promise a refund but I have to wait to get it in 3 to 4 days. so on

Dark

The rooms are very dark so that without electric light one can barely see. They exchange all used towels every day. Why? I am not that dirty that my towels last only one day ... Also I don't need two new soaps pieces per day ... The air conditioning is running on full power. Why? I will not start sweating if its 60 degrees F. The people that are running this hotel should start to "think green".
