Courtyard hotel with two restaurants near Colonial Williamsburg
The Williamsburg Hospitality House is across the street from the College of William and Mary. The colonial-inspired hotel attracts families visiting the school. Classic brick architecture blends in with Colonial Williamsburg. The rooms look textbook American, thanks to striped wallpaper, drapes with valances and rich wood furniture. Two intimate restaurants, including a garden bistro, add to the charm.

Highlights
  • Intimate hotel across from the College of William and Mary and two blocks from Colonial Williamsburg
  • Two restaurants
  • Free underground parking
  • Outdoor pool and fitness center
  • Meeting space for up to 400

Rooms
The 295 rooms echo Colonial Williamsburg style with periwinkle-toned floral bedding, striped wallpaper and elegant wood furniture. Windows look out to a brick courtyard landscaped with flowering trees, tables and a shaded garden. Standard amenities include color TV, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and high-speed Internet access for a fee.

Dining

There are two on-site restaurants at Williamsburg Hospitality House, 415 Grill and Papillon. Both of the restaurants achieve intimacy in an upscale casual setting. Diners enjoy the club ambiance at 415 Grill. The restaurant serves American classics such as crab cakes with the signature corn tartar sauce. Papillon is a brick-covered beauty illuminated by Parisian-like globe street lamps. The restaurant dishes up a seasonal breakfast buffet and bistro favorites in the garden.

Tired in Williamsburg

A little worn

This hotel is a good value and great location and we've stayed here many times over the years. It is seeming a little tired. The bed sheets were so thin and worn that they would not stay on the bed and so it was like sleeping on the mattress pad. The water temperature in the shower was also impossible to regulate - either very hot or cold - either the fixture was worn or there was a water pressure problem.

Best place to stay in Williamsburg!

I loved staying here. The staff was more than wonderful. The rooms were nice and clean and very comfortable. I visited my daughter at William & Mary and the location is so convenient. Parking is underground with an elevator right to my floor. I'll definitely be back. Best place to stay in Williamsburg!!!

Easy Walk to William and Mary

The hotel is perfectly located for familles on college tour. It is also very close to Historic Williamsburg. The buffet breakfast for $12 was a good deal for our ravenous teenage sons. The hotel is aging but we got a great deal for our money.

great location for First Night Williamsburg

The hotel is perfectly situated to walk to all the performances held Dec. 31 and right across the stadium where the midnight fireworks are. Also an easy walk to Colonial Williamsburg. Very friendly, helpful staff and reasonably priced breakfast. The rooms/decor are a bit dark and dated, but the room was large and clean. Nice sitting area with fireplace just off the lobby.

Colonial Williamsburg within walking distance

The hotel lobby and rooms are really pretty with the decorations at Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is about 5 blocks to downtown Williamsburg, then the colonial district. As parking is expensive at the Visitor's center, this hotel is a great alternative. Also, right across the street from William and Mary University. The hotel rooms are dated, but clean. Beds of good quality. Food is average in the restaurant and grill; typical of most restaurants in Williamsburg. Other restaurants are within walking distance. About a 4 mile drive to the outlet malls. Quiet residential area. Have stayed here about 10 times in the past 8 years.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Pick up the Williamsburg guide before buying or eating anywhere in this city. Almost all restaurants offer 10% off dine in meals.

Grand Illumination 2012

Enjoyed our stay at WHH, very convenient to downtown, plus covered parking. Hotel could stand some updates, but overall great stay. We were able to check in early, even on a busy weekend. Rooms very spacious, quiet, clean, bedding comfortable. Did think a contential breakfast was part of our booking, but inroom coffeemaker always helps.

Business trip

The building is in need of a new upgrade, especially the hallways. A musty smell surrounded us as we found our room. The air conditioning did not work well and we had it down to 55 degrees to get the room to be a comfortable 72. Not all was bad. The people who worked there were friendly and helpful. I don't think I will come back to this hotel when we return to Williamsburg.

Fantastic Football Fall Getaway

Hotel is within walking distance to historic Williamsburg and across the street from William and Mary football stadium. Thunder and lighting cleared the stadium but we had only a 100 yard dash to our hotel. How great was that.
