Good not great.
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting the Williamsburg area. We stayed in a King Bed room (not suite). When we first arrived at the hotel it was obvious this was a renovation by laquinta, not a new hotel. The brick exterior was fitting with the area however and pleasant. When we got inside it became even more apparent that it was a renovation in progress. The room was not overly small and fairly typical size wise, however the little details that separate the great hotels from the good were missing. Electronic fixtures with gaps between them and the walls, nightstands out of reach of the bed because the cords were too short (I nearly dropped a lamp off the table before I realized what the problem was), etc. Additionally, the cleaning staff was inconsistent. The first morning they took all of our soaps and did not replace them. The front desk gave me new ones, but I shouldn't have had to go ask for them. They also were inconsistent in the number and type of new towels we got. 2 of the days we got no hand towels by the sink and then the other day we did. The included breakfast was nice to have but again the little details were absent. The coffee was instant, the juices tasted instant as well. The rest of the breakfast was decent with yogurt, english muffins, and boiled eggs as some highlights for me. That said, coffee snobs will need to go elsewhere. CLIFFS NOTES: Decent hotel, you mostly get what you pay for, but don't expect flawless service. Quiet at night, comfortable beds, free cable/internet, book in the room with local menus in it, and close to lots of food places.

Short drive from hotel
Green Leafe Pub is fantastic. $5 appetizers after 9 pm, endless beer selection, and great service. They have two locations you can go to if you want a rowdy college type bar or a more quiet dining experience with the same level of food and service. We went to both locations and will do so again next time we're in town.

3 night stay!
The hote staff is very friendly. The hotel does need some updating. Our room was pretty clean the only thing was the window was cracked and we did let the front staff know. The breakfast was pretty average the good thing was that it was available until 10am. I would definitely stay here again for a weekend stay.

An okay place to spend the night.
Oops, we had spent the night in this hotel a couple of years ago and did not recognize it as the same place when we booked this time. The description says it has been renovated but it is the same as last time we stayed here. Our room this time was in a better location. The AC unit made a racket every time it cycled on which is extra loud in the middle of the night. The hotel is in a safe location very near the historic district. They seem to be very pet friendly so that would be a plus if you were traveling with dogs. The dogs were no problem to us.

Nice Place
It would be better if there was an easy way to walk to the historic district visitor's center but that's not really the motel's fault. Also the curb cuts between the parking lot and the motel entrance weren't aligned. That's not a big deal if you can easily lift your suitcase for a second to get up a curb but some people might get annoyed. Otherwise, I really liked the place.

Great Spring Break
Checkin was easy staff very pleasent. The room was not fancy but very clean, TV out dated but who cares wasn't there to look at it anyway. The bed and pillows were pretty comfy. Microwave, Frig, in door pool (clean and a nice size) a plus the kids loved it, small gym, shuffleboard and a mini golf green. Free breakfast waffles, hard boiled eggs, hot and cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread, muffins, english muffins, biscuits and gravy, tea, coffee, juice, no meat but overall well worth it. I would definely stay again for the price. Only a couple of miles from everything.

Lesson learned
I have been relying too much on websites. This one said the place has a hot tub. Apparently they closed it a long time ago.

Good basic room
The room was quite large with 2 queen beds and still lots of room to maneuver. The bed was comfortable and the room appeared very clean. There were items in the hallways that appeared to need some attention such as the cover on the heater / AC unit was loose and falling away from the wall. All in all I felt it was a good value and I would stay there again.

Fabulous
La Quinta Inn and Suites in Williamsburg is an excellent value. The hotel is clean, bright, and staffed with pleasant, helpful people. The rooms were a good size, the beds (temprupedic) comfortable, the pool was amazing, and the included breakfast left us full and happy. Colonial Willimsburg is an easy drive or you could walk. There are many restaurants and fast food chains in the area. I definitely plan to go back and stay with our family again.
