More than a hotel room

The one bedroom unit we stayed in consisted of a bedroom and separate sitting room/kitchen/dining area and bath with shower & separate tub. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and dishes and included a refrig.,stove, microwave, toaster & coffeemaker (with 2 pkg of coffee), and dish soap. There is also a small washer and dryer in the unit (1 box of soap provided) and iron/ironing board. One TV in bedroom and a smaller one in the other area. This is a time-share location and you will be invited at registration to attend a presentation. Tickets to Williamsburg or other discounts are offered as enticements. We said "no thanks" and were not bothered again. We did not receive maid service during the 3 days we were there. I don't know what their policy is.

A nice place to stay for our family of 4

We had a first floor "towne" condo (have to go up 5-6 steps to enter) with 2 bedrooms (king and queen), and a third room with a pull-out sofa and 2 doors that could close this room off (although one of the doors had glass panels in it and was off the living room area). Our 10-yr.-old slept on the sofa bed (although we did have to use the bedspreads off of the other 2 beds to pad it). It would not have been comfortable for anyone much bigger. There was a stacked washer and dryer unit in the room which came in handy, and the master bathroom was huge with a jacuzzi tub and a separate large shower stall. The kitchen had a dishwasher, but not all of the units do. We ate in a lot, so having the kitchen was a great asset. They have an indoor pool, as well as, several outdoor pools. There were daily activities scheduled, and some tours offered (Washington,D.C.; tour of a tall ship, etc.). The staff was very helpful and the place was well run. We went to go to Colonial Williamsburg, but didn't because of the heat (106 degrees). We did drive by Colonial Williamsburg on the way to the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum (a lot of air-conditioned fun) one day. It was about a 10- minute easy drive. Water Country U.S.A. is literally located next door; President's Park (very interesting, even to our 10-year-old) is almost across the street. The place is less than 10 miles from Newport News, VA, and about 25 miles from Norfolk, VA, both of which are areas that had museums, etc. that we hope to visit another time. We went to the Jamestown Settlement which was about 15 minutes away. (The cafeteria there was a good place to have lunch, and the gift shop was great.)

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

There is large Harris Teeter grocery store about a 5 minute drive from the condo. It even carried a lot of the organic products we use.

Excellent Stay!

We had a great experience at Kings Creek. Note: We stayed in the one bedroom estates section for the price of one bedroom cottage. It was very clean and spacious for a couple. The place is right next door to Water Country and also very close to Busch Gardens. It was also very useful to have a full kitchen so we didn't have to eat out every meal. Overall, excellent stay!

Positive-Clean and close to at

Positive-Clean and close to attractions. Outside grills were a nice addition. Negative-Prime Outlets sales people for the time shares of King's Creek were rentless...one sales person ran after our car as we were leaving.
