A lesson about resorts

This resort was clean, but dated. I was expecting full service, so was disappointed in the overall experience. For example, we were not given fresh linens the entire stay (3 days), no one serviced the room, or even offered to take out the trash! However, if you are looking for a "do-it-yourself" vacation, this is the place for you.

Nice relaxing stay for our family of 6

We enjoyed our stay albeit a breif one. The pool and sand volley ball court were a big hit for our four boys. Our room was spacious, a little outdated as far as the furnishings but very comfortable beds in each bedroom. I would recommend staying here if you have a larger than average family.

Great spot to stay

I got a great deal on this place since it was an off week but I was very pleased overall. I chose to upgrade for $20 more per night to get a second room since we were travelling with 2 children. So glad that I did, although not sure what the single room would have been like since all 27 buildings seem cookie cutter from the outside. Great appliances, dishes, A/V equipment, pool, etc. There was an outdoor deck, playgrounds, fitness room. They will ask you to do a 90 minute ownership presentation but you get a gift for doing that. The path for the golf carts were great for morning runs. Over 5 miles of "trail" to run with hills included and great views. Outdoor pool looked awesome but didn't get a chance to use it since it was cooler. Indoor heated pool and hot-tub were great. Very happy overall with this stay.

If you sign up for the ownership presentation, you can get a three day pass to Colonial Williamsburg for $20. They will even give it to you before you attend.

Very Enjoyable Experience

First time we stayed here and were very pleasantly surprised. The room, or I should say suite, was terrific. Much larger than I expected, and the kitchen was very well stocked. Kids had a great time, especially the Easter egg hunt. Indoor pool was great. Felt very safe and secure in the facility. All the people I encountered could not have been more friendly and helpful.

There is a terrific community playground on a slight hill very close, at the intersection of Monticello and 199. A castle, boat, bridge, and other things to climb on. My kids, 8 and 9, loved it - we stayed over two hours just climbing on the structures. A separate area for younger children.

Williamsburg trip -- better than expected

We stayed 6 days. The facility was as the pictures show: clean and well maintained throughout. Beds very comfortable and all the comforts of home. It is family oriented (good thing). Our teenagers swam and played basketball with other teens from around the country. All employees, including security at entrance gate, were polite and friendly. One night our key didn't work and security was there immediately to take care of it. We didn't have any other problems. You can get fresh towels for free - one time. After that a fee. Other fees that I noticed: if you want housekeeping; and to have wi-fi in your room, unless you have AT&T account, then no charge. There is free wi-fi, on the computers next to concierge The concierge was pushy about setting up a meeting so be aware of that. Lots to see and do for all ages and all are a short distance away (by car): shopping, restaurants (all kinds), historical sites. The whole area is very pretty and well maintained. Didn't go to Bush Gardens b/c it seemed geared toward younger family -- but maybe not? Water park was not yet open but pools at facility were (both in-door and outdoor). The pools were well maintained but no lifeguard on duty. Sign said you had to pay for towels at pool but not true -- towels were out in the open and no one overseeing them. I rated staff as good only b/c concierge was pushy, everyone else very nice and friendly. I rated value as ordinary b/c I read others were able to get the rooms at a rate lower than what we paid. Overall, great time and we would stay again. but would look for the "deals" ;-)

Williamsburg and Jamestown were absolutely outstanding! Not too crowded, you can go on your own or sign up for one the tours. Highly, highly recommend both. Yorktown was nice too but kinda sleepy this time of year.
