second Williamsburg trip this year

Good value for the money. House keeping does their job. We stayed a week and the breakfasts became very repetitive. Soon we had to eat out just to beat this lack of taste. Also, weekend was very crowed so that is the best time to eat breakfast out, It both breaks the taste cycle and gets you away from the many hotel stayers who overfill the eating area. Overall would stay again.

Try a Colonial Williamsburg restaurant. High cost but makes you part of the action, kind of.

Great value location

Inexpensive in the Fall, similar price to other places, but you get the Colonial Williamsburg extras! Great discount on season pass, shuttle van WITHIN the Historic area (can be slow), priority res. for dinner and night programs, if done in advance, tasteful, clean rooms. Ordinary economy bkfst., but at least something. Very nice for the price.

Historic Tavern dining fills up in advance, so reserve. Can be expensive; but worth the experience.

Nice walk to historic sites.

Nice location and Williamsburg ticket discount. Friendly staff. The room's dated and the air conditioning not quite up to task, but worth the savings.

Great value

We booked for one night because we arrived a day early for our time share. We have done this other years. This is a convenient location with clean rooms and the important amenities - including coffee and breakfast.

Great place, great location!

I wasn't sure what to expect as the rate for the room was very low for such a touristy area. I guess it's mostly to stay competitive as there are a ton in the area. I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice sized room, flat screen tv, refrigerator and very clean room. I would have preferred a larger king sized bed, but made due. The staff was very nice and helpful, and breakfast was what you would expect for continental. This is by no means your five star resort with luxury bedding and amenities but definitely helped out with costs as dinners around Williamsburg can be expensive. It is also an easy ten minute walk right to Merchant's Square in Williamsburg, we never needed the car!

First Anniversary weekend getaway

We enjoyed ourselves soo much this past weekend! I booked this hotel in the beginning because it seemed like a clean place, great value, and the location, and boy was I right! I loved everything about this hotel. The location is perfect! Very secluded area, 3 blocks from all the Wiliamsburg shops ( walking distance ) we ate at the Dog Street Pub, best burger I ever had! And you must try the Wyth candy shop, the truffles, Yum! It's so cute there! It's also about 10 mins to Busch Gardens and Water Country which was still great for us. Down the road you have all your gas stations, food, all that stuff. That isn't walking distance but there are a few places that deliver we noticed. The pool was great! Pretty big and plenty of chairs and lounge chairs, they also have pool towels available right there! It was landscaped nice as well to. In the morning from 7:30-10 they have coffee, juice, bagels, English muffins, toast, cereal, cinn buns, cereal, fruit, hard boiled eggs , yogurt and all the jellies and cream cheese. For us that was plenty, we did not want to eat too heavy before the theme park lol. Our room had two double beds, flat screen tv, refrigerater, table, nice vanity and clean bathroom! NO bedbugs!!! I'm sure you all are happy that I shared that and clean towels and sheets NO stains lol. I'm big on all that! Maid service was great! We did not get a early check in on Friday but no biggie bc we just used the clean spotless bathroom in the lobby and just went out for the day and came back about 5! I just really loved the area a lot. I actually walked around the hotel by myslef one morning and there is a old fashioned train next to the hotel which I thought added a touch and don't worry it wasn't a bother, not too loud! I highly reccomend The Governors Inn!!! As me and the hubby drove around and seen all the other hotels I was highly satisfied with my choice to stay here and I would not stay anywhere else. We plan on bringing our son back in a few years once he's old enough to enjoy himself as much as we did!:)
