Needs Help

Country Inn has a good location near Williamsburg Plantation but is worn and needs a makeover. Found bugs in our room, had light bulbs out and pool needed maintenance. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is subpar and lacks usual amenities.

There were problems with the room.

There was a funny odor when you first walked into the room. It was later covered up by the AC.. Certain channels on the tv didn't have audio. For example CNN,MSNBC,etc.. I mentioned it to a hotel staff person. But problem never taken care of. Richard

UpGrade

Upon arrival with my confirmation email in hand the desk clerk informed me that they had proof that I had reserved (and paid for) a hotel room, however, they did not reserve a room for me. So this could have turned out very badly. But, I got to stay in a suite for the price that I had paid for a regular room. No upgrade charges. The room was very nice. Breakfast was amazing. For a free breakfast, I was blown away!

Dining tip: In Hotel

If you are going to the continental breakfast then skip the line for the waffle iron and eat fruit, bagels and pastries--delicious and a time saver.

Good stay

I came down with my family for a few days a Busch Gardens. This is our go to hotel. Nice staff, clean and comfy rooms, and great location. Breakfast room can be crowded in the morning and has limited options. But overall, had a great experience.

Williamsburg 6/2011

Great location, but noisy from the room above. The floor above causes your celing to creak and groan with every movement of the party above.

Wonderful Williamsburg vaction

The staff went out of their way to assign our two rooms within close proximity and away from the school group on the second floor. The cookies were a real treat and the family enjoyed the pool and workout room. The breakfast area was rather small so became quite congested both mornings we were there.

Good place to relax after a fun day.

We ended up in Williamsburg last minute and found this hotel for the indoor pool in December. The pool was the greatest disappointment as it was not very warm and the hot tub was more like a luke warm tub. I ended up giving my youngest a warmer tub upstairs in the room. BUT other than that, the staff was very friendly and the suite was spacious with a door to divide the bed area from the living space. We had several dinners in the room with plenty of space and the lay out allowed us to get the kids in bed and still stay up and relax without waking them.

Unfortunate Circumstances

Checked-in around 10:00PM after driving four hours and attending a funeral. Overcome by powerful, stinky-feet smell upon entering our room. Tried to call the front desk but the phone didn't work. Hauled all our luggage back downstairs. The desk clerk explained that the head housekeeper had put baking soda down the air-conditioners to freshen up, but instead it caused the odorous problem. He could not have been more accommodating, trying four other rooms before finally working with [...] to refund our reservation. He even made arrangements with the Holiday Inn across the street for our stay there in a beautiful room at a great price. The hotel was clean and well kept, and the service was outstanding. We just couldn't deal with the smell.
