Colonial-flavored hotel for business travelers and families

Exhausted in Virginia
Labor Day Weekend
We were put in a room right next to the main entrance/exit in a convenient building so there was a bit of extra noise while we tried to sleep. This building also allowed pets so one morning we woke up to a barking dog and a screaming baby. We do like our sleep and the first night it was impossible. The bed was so soft that I fell into the middle of the bed and had a back ache the entire night and next morning. Really these beds are way too soft. The grounds are gorgeous and right off the interstate. The room was pleasant, very colonial American decorated complete with painted moldings and trim. Check in and check out was easy. The staff was very pleasant but while we were trying to sleep, we would hear the housekeeping staff communicating with the front desk via walk talkies. Summed up: Not the quiet or comfortable setting you would expect for an Inn and Spa of this type.

Weekend Stay
Quiet Setting, very quiet room and extremely helpful staff. Beautiful grounds lovely amenities but the pool needs repainting and the bathroom tiling needed regrouting. DO NOT dine at the pu late at night -- a very disappointing experience with food prep BUT GOOD SERVICE.

Great Hotel for Pet owners
We loved this hotel! We were able to have our dog with us and they were very accomodated to make our stay comfortable! Make some times for the afternoon cookies and milk! Yummy

Frantic Traveler
Nice quiet getaway
Although this was a business trip, it provided a nice quite place for me to go and relax after a hard day scrambling around with work. I arrived very late and was greeted with kindness. I was able to simply go to my quiet room, relax and go to sleep. Just what I needed!

A Wonderful Stay!!!!!!!
My stay at The Founders Inn was excellent from the time I arrived until I left. The staff at the hotel had very good customer service skills and they were very professional. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I enjoyed my stay tremendously and I will gladly stay there again.

My husband and I traveled for a Valentine's getaway the first part of the week and attended a Conference the last part of the week. We enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. Accommodations were everything you could imagine for this price range and more.

Short walk from hotel
Shuttle to and from airport was very helpful. There is dining within walking distance. We used a rental for a couple days for sightseeing and visiting the oceanfront. Restaurants on location are very good.

Very nice & very friendly.
All of the staff members were very courteous & friendly. Even the cleaning & maintenance personnel said hello with a smile. That is so refreshing these days. Everything was very clean & orderly. I would definitely stay there again.
