Va family
We enjoyed our extended weekend vacation to va beach. This is our 3rd time staying at Barclay. We stay here every time because the suite layout works great for our young family. The separate bedroom in the front of the suite allows our small children to sleep while my husband and I can stay up later in the living area or on the balcony without disturbing them. The price cannot be beat for oceanfront suites with a kitchen. Include the location (in the less crowded area of the beach), free continental breakfast and the indoor pool, good luck trying to find a better price. We are willing to overlook the fact that the building is older, the elevators can be slow at times, the breakfast is pretty basic and they always seem to run out of towels at the pool. The price is right. The staff is helpful and the room, although old, is clean and the view from every room is breathtaking.

Pizza Planet across the street is very convenient and reasonably priced. We fed our family of 5 for just a few dollars more than a trip to McDonalds would have cost.

Great Birthday Celebration at Virginia Beach
Can't beat the fantastic location and belcony ocean view which is why I come back to this hotel. Located at the best end of Virginia beach near sand volley ball courts and surfing area. Room was very clean and had every amenitiy you need was in the room. Within walking distance of numerous great restaurants. Great value for the price. Negatives were outdated TV and only two elevators are not enough for a hotel this size.

Disappointed in STL
End of DC trip treat
Internet was down more than up and when brought to the staff's attention they were less than helpful. Requested sheets and a blanket for the pullout couch that took over an hour to receive. The next morning the staff pulled those sheets, took the pillows, folded up the bed and left a different set of ripped sheets . . .on the floor. All unnecessary for a 2-night stay. Very few of our light fixtures worked. They were so old the bulbs made popping sounds. The location where the bulbs went into the lamps were so loose that we questioned the safety of even using the lamps. The breakfast consisted of cereal, bread/danishes and boiled eggs. . . .don't expect anything more than that! Very little parking at the hotel. We had to park across the street in a parking garage. Overall, for the price paid, we were very disappointed with this hotel. Short of it sitting right on the ocean, I would not recommend it.

Our vacation
Overall stay was fine. We did not use the kitchenette as much as we could have. It was not stocked that well anyhow (only had one glass) The suite seemed clean but did not feel clean. I guess I was expecting a newer updated hotel. We did not have WiFI the entire time we were there. First we were told it was a broken part and then when the part was replaced and it still did not work we were told the gaming systems of the other hotel guests used all the memory preventing anyone else from getting on. Pretty disappointing.

Great place to stay!
I was very pleased with our stay. I was a little skeptical when I went up the elevator and stepped into a very dated hallway but when I opened the door to our suite I breathed a huge sigh of relief! The room was renovated very nicely and it was very clean! Clean is a big deal to me so I was very happy with the abundance of clean towels and the clean sheets. Personally, with a small child I love that the bedroom is seperate from the kitchen/living room area (that way she could nap while we stayed up). The hotel staff was helpful and the continental breakfast was great. We would definitely stay again - great hotel!!
