Surfside Oceanfront Inn and Suites

I didnt like this hotel. There was bugs flying around my room and the sheets weree just disgusting. The pool was very nasty looking and the cieling was just making feel very uncomfortable inside the pool. And oh yeah they call there jacuzzi and heated pool please that suppose to be jacuzzi is not hot at all as soon as i got in the pool i was ready to go. And they call this a hotel more like a Motel. This is the last time i will EVER come to Surfside Ocean Inn.

First two days went fine. However, when I tried to use the hotel iron. I unwinded the cord pluged it up and then lifted from it from the cradle and the whole iron plate came apart and fell on top of my left hand. The hotel did not have any first aid to treat the burn on my hand, I had to go to doctor to be treated. It took over 5 hours for me to get any relief from the pain. The staff was rude and unprofessional. They comp me one day but I had to pay 130 for doctor treatment. Would not stay there again and I am still in pain and have a large burn on my hand.

This hotel has wonderful staff. They are very courteous and do their best to keep the hotel clean. It is very accessible to the beach. Front lobby, not the best, is well maintained. However, the rooms are little small, all furniture jammed up providing very less room to walk-around. Free internet provided only as wired in the rooms. Please make sure to take the ethernet cable with you or else you will have to buy from them. The furniture had scratches. There was no coffee maker in the room, but they have sort of 24-hr coffee and juices free in the front lobby. I think this hotel desperatly needs new carpet and better painting. It looks very shabby providing a very bad look especially in the corridors. In terms of location, it is a little bit towards the south, but it's no big deal. They have their own parking on 2nd and 3rd parking. The swimming pool was very clean. However, it is not a big one, but enough for kids to playaround. With 5-6 people, it looks crowded. The spa is for name sake. it doesn't work. In terms of free breakfast, They have good collection from cereals to donoughts to bagels and different drinks. After 2 times, I didn't feel like eating the samething third time.

We were there for a quick weekend getaway. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean to the point of smelling strongly of Lysol at all times. However, the place just needs a face lift. Paint was chipped in the hallways and on the doors, there was rust around the bathroom door, etc.

the balcony was nice, the rooms werent too bad but leaving the room, you enter into a noisy, dirty hallway that feels more like a run down apartment building, than a hotel, the pool was filled with loud noisy families.location was good, but we will definitly not return to this place.

Got checked in quick which was nice. It was noisey outside of the rooms and when we walked into the room there was a cup of red liquid like kool-aid sitting there. We just laughed it off. The view was great and there was a microwave and DVD player plus patio chairs for in the summer. you could hear the ocean from inside the room. The cold air never turned on and it stayed too warm, other than that it was great.

Hotel is located on prime site with lots of things to do and see. Parking is very tight, so if you have an extended truck it's very difficult to manuever. The room is very small as is the bathroom. There were crumbs on the floor and potato chips stuck in the frame of the bed. The cleaning was terrible. I don't think they changed the sheets while we were there and when we left 3 days later the potato chips were still there. I recommend spending an extra 40 or 50 dollars and staying in a nicer hotel.

$100 a night doesn't get you much anymore so our review has to be read in that light. To begin with, there was a large dumpster parked next to the front entrance to receive the old furniture they are replacing. Not a promising first impression. After they replace all the furniture, they might either renew or at least clean the hallway carpets which are really dingy. On the plus side, the room, including the bath, was seedy but clean and well serviced every day. The breakfast room was adequate. The staff was very polite and attentive. You pays your money and you makes your choice. Our reason for not planning a return to VA Beach is not the hotel, but the incessant, deafening roar of navt fighter jets operating out of Oceana all day long only two or three miles from the beach.

Checked in and checked out immediately. Visible bed bugs between mattress and box spring. YUK

Nothing to great about the Surfside. In the ad they listed a hot tub. Come to find out that the hot tub in the pool hasn't worked in years and now it's just a small kiddy pool. Very upset with this one of the reasons that i booked here. And for the breakfast was very poor too. No variety and not enough condiments. As for the room it did have a good view. But i think i could have found a better place for the money.
