Virginia Beach hotel with bike rentals, indoor pool and restaurant
Boardwalk access is only part of the appeal of this affordable hotel on Virginia Beach's oceanfront. Comfortable rooms plus extras such as seasonal bike rentals and a seasonal patio restaurant send guests into vacation mode. The rooftop sundeck even has free Wi-Fi.

Rooms
Seven distinct room styles, from efficiencies to oceanfront king rooms, afford partial or full ocean or city views. Most rooms have an angular glimpse of the Atlantic and private balconies. Dark carpet grounds more vibrant colors such as mauve, orange and blue displayed in bedding and upholstery. Free Wi-Fi, cable TV, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker are standard amenities.

Dining

Ocean breezes blow through the tented windows at Little Feets Café. The restaurant is open seasonally for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Along with boardwalk and beach vistas, guests enjoy specialties such as crabmeat Norfolk and Greek spanakopita. A children's menu offers standards such as chicken nuggets and hamburgers for picky, pint-sized eaters.

Recreation

The beachside setting at Seagull Inn Oceanfront encourages guests to get outside. A rooftop sundeck is prime real estate for people-watching and surfing the Internet as the Wi-Fi signal extends to the roof. Explorers find the on-site bike rentals for one to four people convenient for cruising the boardwalk. A heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi offer inside activities.

Great Family Getaway

Great stay for the location and price. The Seagull is close to everything i needed to enjoy the stay at VA beach. The only small issue was being blocked in on check out day due to people parking their cars in front of mine and others who were ready to leave and leaving them, one of the vehicles was an employees!I think that could of been handled a little better. The room service staff was awesome!Over all a Great stay!

Location ok for price

Hotel is near plenty of stores. Rooms were ok. Hotel did not have enough parking spaces. Pancake house across the street was too expensive.

good value

This hotel room was clean and had a wonderful view of the ocean. Parking on the premises is limited but additional parking is only two blocks away. The basic amenities are provided, but no fitness center there. Bike rentals are provided onsite w/discount for guests. This hotel puts you in the center of many activities. If you enjoy the beach then you're just a few hundred feet away! The staff was courteous and responsive to our needs. I read some negative reviews about this hotel, but at my wife's urging booked a room. I am glad we ignored those reviews.

Best dining values are a 15 minute drive away from the strip. I have found the quality of the food and service is better in the more residential areas of VA beach.

not bad but not great

My boyfriend and I stayed two nights in the hotel just to get away for a bit and enjoy the ocean. The best thing about the hotel was it was right on the beach. The room was average but clean. The parking sucked, there was limited spaces at the hotel and we had to park a block and a half away at their other lot. we ate at the hotel restraunt and the food was a little pricey but good. Over all it was a decent experience however in my opinion there was not much to do along the boardwalk and it seems like there was the same 5 stores every block. Went to ocean city last year and if I had to choose between virginia beach and ocean city I would definately choose ocean city. It was a lot nicer in ocean city and a lot more to do.

disappointed

I chose the Seagull Inn because it was one of the least expensive oceanfront options I could find. When it comes to hotels on the beach, I'm very easy to please. So long as I get an oceanfront view and can enjoy the sea air and hear the waves (and the place isn't over-run with bugs) I'm happy. However, this place really tried my patience. The thing that bothered me the most was, while there was a nice big window in the room, it didn't open. I understand that maybe they don't want people falling out of windows, but the room was quite stuffy, and the ocean is RIGHT THERE, but you can't take advantage of the wonderful breeze. It's maddening and made me not want to spend a moment in the room. Also, there are 2 parking lots, and the one at the actual hotel is tiny, fills up immediately. The overflow lot is 2 blocks away, and you have to cross busy Pacific Ave, which is tricky enough without luggage. Finally, I found the front desk staff rather rude. I know working at a hotel might not be the mostly thrilling job, but at least pretend like you don't hate your life. I will not be coming back here, there are much better options (Oceanfront Inn).

Weekend getaway

My husband and I stayed at Seagull for a night. Hotel is clean right on the beach but I was disappointed that I had to choose between having ocean view or shared balcony. So we ended up choosing the view. Overall it was alright nothing fancy.

Good Basic Va Beach Motel

Sea Gull Inn is your good basic oceanfront motel. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The only draw back to the motel was the "shared balcony" situation. The motel has smoking/nonsmoking rooms next to each other and we continually had smokers intruding in our window/balcony area at all hours of the day/night - kinda difficult to have a romantic evening when you have people right outside your window smoking and carrying on. It did disturb us that the rooms with the better views were designated as "smoking rooms". When I asked why, it was said that it would keep the smoke blowing away from the remainder of the rooms. I felt penalized for being a non-smoker. The motel warns about the restaurant right across the street (warnings posted in elevator) It appears the owners are at war with each other. We didn't try it, but visited the restaurant in the Hilton just 4-5 blocks down the road - it was fabulous, a little pricey, but the seafood was excellent - just don't bother with the steaks, but when you go to a seafood restaurant, what do you expect.

The Restaurant in the Hilton, 4-5 blocks down on the right, has excellent seafood, but stay clear of the steaks. Several members of our party had to send entire entres back - twice!
