The hotel attracts guests on low-key family vacations and affordable romantic getaways. There is an outdoor pool, and whirlpool rooms have heart-shaped tubs. Expect full kitchens in the larger suites.

2 night stay over July 4th weekend

Room itself was decent, beds comfortable, hot tub odd but felt wonderful, down at end so away from most noise, parking good. Missed cleaning our room the first night so just sent up clean towels. Next day's cleaning was spotty...tub never cleaned, food particles around table from when we first arrived still there. bathroom floor not cleaned either. Changed our room key after some unknown person was able to scan into our room while we were sitting there playing a board game. Scary!

Probably Won't Stay Again...

Cons Location: This hotel is located at the very end of the Beach Strip. Literally the last hotel on yhe strip. The downside to this is that all the action and good eating are all the way at the other end. Check-in: They have to do better with the check-in process as we had to wait 45 minutes in line with only 5 or 6 guest ahead. That's 7 to 9 minutes to check in one guest. Unacceptable. Amenities: No gym, no business center, not even a lobby restroom but we'll get to that in a minute. First, the only amenity this hotel has is one pool and that's located smack in the middle of the hotel parking lot in front of the hotel. While the beach is in the rear. It would be so much better to have the pool on the same side as the beach like most hotels. Second, they don't even have a bathroom in the lobby area so when my little one had to go several times after being in the pool for a few hours, we had to keep making trips to our room on the fifth floor. The room: The negative about the room was that the AC in the room was not working as efficient as it should. The temperature wouldn't drop below 73 degrees and the room stayed very humid. We couldn't figure out why a room with two double beds would have a jacuzzi tub right in the room with no partition *shrugs shoulders*. Pros Staff: The staff, particularly Lisa (I think that was her name), was exceptionally nice and went above and beyond to get us an oceanfront view room. She gave me tips on what to do with my car to protect since hurricane Arthur was in route to the area. Just a really nice lady. The room: The positive about the room was that it was very clean and the beds were comfy. A small kitchenette was quite convenient. Overall if I were on a tight budget I may stay again but if my money can afford me otherwise then otherwise it is.

A good place to stay

We didn't like the hot tub in the room, as it takes up to much room. Plus half of our stay the AC didn't work, and when it did you could not adjust it. Other than that we liked the place, the people were real nice.

Pleasant surprise

I was expecting and older place like this to be a little shoddy. Not so. Everything was well painted and maintained extremely well. Even a brand new place would have little to beat this. Comfortable beds, efficient area for basic food. Had the hot tub with the ocean view. Quiet end of the boardwalk. Really nice for families and people that want to relax. Pool beach fishing and shuttle buses to take you beyond your walking distance. Small balconies to enjoy the view. Staff was always pleasant.

Big Sam's great food at the charter docks. You just have to walk past the fish cleaning station to get there. :)

Perfectly convenient stay!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Schooner Inn on Memorial Day weekend. We checked in on Sunday and only planned to stay until Monday. However, while we were sitting on the beach on Monday we decided we just weren't ready to leave so we booked one more night. The location of the hotel is great for people who are not interested in being right next to the trashier beach bars. We went out on Sunday night and were able to walk to several bars that were so great. I strongly suggest stopping by Waterman's for at least one Orange Crush. Best. Drink. Ever. Easy walk across the board walk to the beach, plenty of beach space, great people watching. Can't say enough about how great the location was. The staff was pretty good. Not overly friendly or helpful but sufficient. Before we decided to stay an extra night we asked the front desk staff about a later check out (we were completely willing to pay a fee for this) but were told that it isn't an option. The rooms themselves worked out great for us. We booked the two double bed rooms. We slept comfortably in both rooms. I didn't notice in the first room but in the second room we stayed in the mattresses were just one year old an very clean. The little kitchen was great for us too- everything we needed was there- with the exception of a cork screw! We will definitely be returning to the Schooner Inn for our next stay!

Great View

The hotel was great, the room was clean, the staff was friendly, the view was beautiful but I would not pay for the upgrade for what they call a hot tub. Tub had 6 jets, only 2 worked, after notifying the front desk they did get all 6 working but not to full capacity. It is located at the end of the boardwalk at the inlet so it is a couple of blocks before things get started but there is an excellent restaurant 1 block away and there is always the bus. We walked the first day and took the bus the second day. Would stay here again.

Shamrock marathon weekend stay!

We enjoyed this hotel overall! The first day was a crazy 70 degree day in March and our only complaint was there was no air option, room was scorching hot and stuffy. Went down to ask the front desk about the air and was told once the heat is turned on the air won't work. Strange. The next day, race day, was a lot cooler and rainy so the heat did the trick. The best part was the heart shaped hot tub with the beautiful ocean view especially after a chilly half marathon! Nice outside balcony to walk out on but small. Price was reasonable for accommodations. Another problem, bed was comfortable but rough sheets. Bath towels were thin and small. Not really anywhere else to sit except the bed or a tiny two chair table. Would definitely stay here again for what we were there for! Enjoyed our weekend getaway :-)

Taproom was very close and delicious! A bit pricey especially the shrimp cocktail appetizer! You get four medium shrimp, cocktail sauce, big leaf of lettuce, and a lemon for $8.99! We were hoping for a couple more shrimp between the two of us!
