Econo Lodge Oceanfront

The hotel was definitely worth the price. The pool was a little small but really warm and clean. I was pleased with the stay that my boys and I had there.

Wouldn't stay here again if it were the last hotel on the beach! Rooms seriously needed CLEANING! Parking garage locked at 7:30PM & had to blow horn for 10 minutes trying to get someone's attention. Don't drive a truck here, you'll barely fit in parking garage!!! Curb appeal is nothing. Outside windows are filthy! Can they spring for some window cleaners? Staff said she's call in 10 minutes to make sure everything was ok...took her 1 1/2 hours to call. Would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. Next time I'll just spring for a nicer hotel. It'll be worth it!

We only stayed one night, but the check-in was easy and the check-out was even easier. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was updated. Cont. breakfast gave a variety of choices. Nice place to stay. We will be looking to stay here again on our next trip to Va. Beach.

This was a last minute trip for the weekend. The on site parking was a big plus and the location couldn't be better. There is only one elevator so be prepared to wait or ride up and down for a bit. This is really picky but the showering experience could have been much better. There wasn't any place to put your soap, wash rag, etc. and the shower curtain kept blowing into the tub making it difficult to take a bath.

I was a bit pessimistic about my stay at this hotel. It was booked last minute and was one of the few hotels on the oceanfront that still had availability. Overall, however, they exceeded all of my expectations. The hotel and room itself are very dated. The room, however was very very clean. I work in hotels myself and always do a good hard look when I walk in a room, and found nothing to complain about. Sure, there was wear and tear, chipped wood on the chair, etc., but it seemed as though the housekeeping staff did very well with what they had to work with. The bed was comfortable, I slept very well. The A/C worked very well, room stayed at about 70 degrees despite the outside temperature being 100. The best part of all is that this hotel is literally right in front of the firework barge on 21st street. If you happen to be there on a Wednesday, enjoy the show! For those of you who like the clubs/bars, the hotel is also directly across the street from the biggest concentration of clubs on Atlantic Ave. At night, they had very good security, 2 security guards on staff every night along with a roll down gate that protected their parking garage. My only complaint: on the upper floors, floors 4 to 10, the balconies are set back away from the boardwalk. I happened to be on floor 7. While there is a direct view of the beach and ocean, the two neighboring hotels block the view up and down the boardwalk because the hotel is set back behind the neighboring buildings. Bad hotel design, can't fault the current operators, just something to take note of since this is not noted in the room description. The lower floors, floors 1 to 3 do not have this obstructed view. In summary, while my expectations were low, this hotel blew them away. Kudos to the staff for working with what you have available and making it the best that you can.

Very nice location, walked out right onto the boardwalk and beach area. Centralized to the shops and restaurants. A plus was there was a security officer at the front of the hotel during the late evening hours since there was a lot of activity on the street. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. The single elevator was hard to get.

The view was great, the room was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The drawbacks were, there is only one elevator, we spent a lot of time waiting for the elevator, the hallways were hot and the pool was very small. Also, the air conditioner made a lot of noise and since we were near the boardwalk, we could hear people on the beach all night long. I didn't get much sleep, so if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. If the hotel can fix these problems, will recommend hotel to friends.

Oceanfront Virginia Beach is not fancy but comfortable. Love the location. Biggest problem was water bugs and ants. We have noticed some in our rooms. My family and a friend go each year for the art festival which we really enjoy. The management were very helpful. Had to confirm our reservation we made in the Winter because of computer changes but very helpful with this. Enjoyed our 2 night stay. Hell of a view.

They let us checked in earlier than we were suppose to. Free continental Breakfast, nice ocean view. The floor that lead to the garage smell like cigarette (3) Only had one elevator in the entire hotel which made it an hassle to travel up and down the hotel since it contained 10 levels. Wish the pillow wasnt so hard
