This hotel was horrible! We were there for two nights, we were on the seventh floor and it was raining and the rain came in ... the window and soaked the carpet! We left the hotel on the first day and expected our room to be cleaned but it never was. We had to ask for clean towels and the room was never dried. The room had been painted recently and the paint smell was terrible...avoid this hotel at all costs!

As far as dining goes, I recommend "The Jewish Mother" restaurant and "Abbey Road" - both are within a few blocks, fair priced and jeans /t-shirt attire are acceptable. If you want to drive 5 miles go to Captain George's Seafood Buffet- khaki's/collared shirt acceptable. Hands down the best seafood Buffet in VA Beach for %25.99, well worth it.A short 1.50 mile drive/walk down to Mahi Mah's on 6th Street in the bottom of Ramada Oceanfront for incredible Sushi. Also, I jogged 1.23 miles/10 minutes every morning to Bad A Cofee Co. for a cup of Kona Coffee on 619 18th Street.

Excellent Hotel For The Money
Joe Relaxer Dec 14, 2009
The Best Western location is pretty good. The service I received from the hotel staff was wonderful. They gave me directions ... and recommendations for lunch and dinner spots locally. They were very friendly. I went down for a Fri/Sat/Sun get-a way by myself in search of peace and quiet and relaxation. This hotel was in a great location for that, but also provided a lot of local things to do too. The hotel was clean, the room was clean, and the staff was friendly. Negatives : The indoor pool was not usable cause they were filling it back up, the over hang in front of the entrance was under construction so I got wet in the rain unpacking my car, the arcade and fitness rooms were not that great, and the Angelo's by the Sea restaurant downstairs was not open for lunch. Overall, for $50 a night it is VERY WORTH IT!!!

Im in town taking care of some personal business. I lived in the area for 7 yrs and just recently moved away. I wanted an ... oceanfront room with a private balcony and whirlpool tub. I found it at an exceptional price. The room is huge, staff is awesome and the room, including windows and mirrors are spotless. Large HD TV and fridge are great as well. Love this place! I extended my stay for an additional night just because I like the room so much. I will be back and I will recommend!

Room was small but clean ... however the mattress on the bed was horrible ... you feel the springs digging into your spine ... ... couldn't sleep ... if you back problems don't stay here ... there was an odor in the hallway and the rooms that caused sneezing from the second we got off the elevator ...one last thing ... we were on the eight floor with a balcony that looked out at the beach ... beautiful view .... but one needs to use caution because the railing on the balcony was loose and missing a screw on its base ....

Great off-season value!
I'd rather be cruising. Nov 18, 2009
My husband and I traveled to VA Beach for business and pleasure on the way-off season, mid-November. The parking lot was wide ... open and the reception staff was exceedingly friendly. Since the hotel was virtually empty, they gave us a handicapped room on the first floor with a king bed, an obscenely enormous bathroom, and glass doors opening directly onto the Boardwalk and the beach. To get to the fitness room, the pool, or the restaurant, we just had to leave the room and walk down the hallway. We booked through [...] and paid only $60 per night TOTAL for this fabulous room. Since we were in town house-hunting for a future move to the area, we asked the reception staff for recommendations on areas to look for well-priced townhouses and apartments. They were more than happy to recommend some great places and wrote down all the details we needed for our search. Sure, it's not the sumptuous luxury of the Hilton, but for the price and the location, you can't beat it.

Catch 31 in the Hilton hotel, just 2 doors down from the Best Western Oceanfront, is superb. Catch 31 had fabulous views, gorgeous decor, incredible selection of high-quality raw oysters, a creative menu, and lovely service. You can walk up Atlantic or on the Boardwalk for about thirty seconds and arrive at the front door. The prices are high, so it makes a great "special occasion" dinner, but they have lunch specials every day.

Best Western during the Big Storm!
Storm Survivor Nov 13, 2009
My stay ended up being during the biggest storm in some time...hurricane force winds, inches of rain blowing sideways, high ... tides flowing over the board walk, most bridges and tunnels closed due to flooding, 180,000 homes without power. The staff still took care of everyone's needs, including a full service onsite restaurant that opened for normal operations everyday even though schools, businesses, shops, convenient stores...just about everyone on the beach and inland closed down for two days. I wonder how they treat customers under normal conditions.

Rick Nov 10, 2009
I got a great rate [...] to stay at the Best Western in November. I went there to visit family, and at this time of the year ... its a solid value. Clean, nice, indoor pool and a so-so fitness center. If you have to go on business and don't want to spend a great deal of money during the slow season this is the place for you. Most rooms look out towards the ocean, it was very pretty.

Nice Place for the Price
Firewolf24 Nov 2, 2009
Parking was pretty bad, if the main lot is full (and it will be on weekends and summer season) you have to park across the ... street in the smallest 3 deck parking garage I have EVER parked in. Good luck turning a car around in there. With that aside, I was booked in an Oceanfront room and the view was breathtaking. Overlooking the bustling boardwalk and the Atlantic Ocean (even got to see some dolphins swim by). The restaurant was good (if you like seafood). Staff was extremely friendly. And finally, the hotel was pretty quiet for a Saturday night! The price was also unbeatable (room had a safe and refrigerator as well). Although the rooms were small.
