Why I use Orbitz!

The hotel and room were fine; you get what you pay for, but in a pinch due to College Homecoming our first choice was not available . We had the unfortunate experience of having a very squeaky mattress, which kept me up most the night. When I asked the hotel to change rooms or change the mattress, I was told the hotel was sold out. As soon as I said I would not pay for the room and that I would contact Orbitz, 20 minutes later the clerk found a room for us. Thank you Orbitz, this is precisely why I use you when making travel plans!

Inside the room is better than outside

My boyfriend & I had a nice hotel room & the bed was comfortable. However, between myself & my family (including kids) we rented 4 rooms. All the other rooms we nice inside also but they all said the beds were uncomfortable. I would also suggest to get a room on the bottom floor. we were on the 2nd floor & the walk area outside the rooms looked like they were going to fall due to cracking in the paint which shows they have fallen since it was made. Over all I would probley stay here again I would just get a room on the 1st floor.

There isn't anywhere around to get food. You have to travel about 15 mins away to find places to eat & most of them are fast food so make sure you get food before too late.

Nice for the Price

We needed a pleasant 1 night stay and this hotel fit the bill. The staff was extremely pleasent. The room was comfortable and good size, but outdated. Coffee from free continental breakfast was just brown water.

Good value

This was just a quick trip to see my family. We had stayed at other more expensive hotels in the area. But the Days Inn is every bit as good a choice and much more reasonable prices. I'd stay there again.

Check out Sunspots Studios in downtown Staunton. You can watch the glass blowers and buy some beautiful glass pieces.

Ordinary place to sleep and then move on

The exterior of this Days Inn is really run-down. Almost changed my mind when I saw it up close. It was, however, one of the least expensive in the area and that's how it should be appraised. It's perched high on a lovely piece of land surrounded mostly by rolling farmland - not yet crowded by other motels. Convenient to I-81, but very hard to find at night, once you exit the interstate. Room was clean, bath area well-maintained, but door to room squeaked badly. All amenities that were promised were there and working. The continental breakfast was standard fare, NOT "deluxe" and it was kept filled, even with a full house that day. Front desk staff was pleasant, effecient and helpful.

Days Inn Staunton

The gentleman at the front desk was most kind and helpful. He changed my room type from a king size single to a double when a friend invited herself to stay with me. The hotel was completely quiet and even though we got a smoking room, which i requested, it did not stink. Thanks again to the desk man whose name i forgot to get.

Good place for a great price

The hotel was just about perfect. They had a fridge, as previously listed, as well as a micro--all in working order. The room was spotless when we entered and the hotel staff couldn't have been nicer and patience while giving directions. The price was a wonderful deal and it was easy to get to off the highway--you could actually see it from the road! The pool was open pretty early in the morning and was closed until at least 9 at night. The fitness center was open 24 hours and was clean. They even had a continental breakfast, which had bagels and toast and coffee and tea and orange juice and cereal and muffins. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is that they didn't clean our bathroom when we stayed two nights. We did get fresh towels every day. Like I said, everything was just about perfect. I would HIGH RECOMMEND this hotel.

I saw from a different post that Woodrow Wilson's birthplace and library were nearby (in Staunton). It was less than 10 minutes away. I would highly recommend!
